And the thing locks up!!! Not happy

I was hoping that the problems with the 70-200L IS would dissapear with this new body but no!! looks like its going to have to take a trip to canon.

Does anyone else get lock ups with this lens?

What firmware revision is it running, if it is brand new straight out of the box it should be allright (1.0.5 or later).

I have 1.0.5 in my 20d and have not had a problem with my 70-200 2.8 NON IS lens. I've only had one issue with a 28-70 2.8 and a 550ex with a hang and I think the camera had a problem with AF and could not lock.

What were you shooting and what was the setup?

Tons of people have had problems. Send it in. It's not the camera.

I've read somewhere in the net about cleaning the lens and body contacts with eraser, help resolve lockup issue with 20D...

Cheers,

Charles,
