I can not find my manual and couldn not find one online. I know I can do high speed sync with it, but I can't figure out how to set it. Does anyone know or have a manual that they can look it up for me....please. I'm finding this thing useless without high speed sync.

It's the same manual as the MR-14...
(Page 26)
Set the shutter speed higher than the max synch speed and hold down the + and - keys simultaneously to turn high speed synch on. Hold both buttons in again to turn off.
You may also be able to quickly turn it off by turning camera to green box auto which removes configuration on the MR-14 and 40D combination...

out of interest what are you going to use Hi speed sync for? You dont normally use high ISO and wide apertures with macro.

you realise its best to use normal sync to freeze movement ie the flash is the main light source?
