Just got my novatron studio strobes, I have a stupid question for you.
Can you leave the modeling lights on when you use the strobes or should you turn them off after positioning the strobes? thanks

I can't think of any reason why you would need to turn the modeling lights off before each triggering of the strobe. I never do (before each trigger, that is, although I do turn them off when I don't need the modeling light anymore).

I leave my modeling lights on ALWAYS!... Except for the background light when I'm using a grid or gel modifier. But the key and fill are always on. And the main reason why, is if I turn them off, I don't have enough light to keep my subjects pupils from being fully dialated. The modeling lights help shut down the iris a little so I get some of that beautiful color in there. Otherwise the eyes can look really bad.

I turn on my modeling light only when my lights are ON, but when i turn off my lights completely then i turn off my modeling light.
