Hi,

I have moved from Nikon to Canon just few weeks ago, still trying to learn about the photography. I didn't like the choices Nikon offered. I've lost lot of money converting over but, I am glad I did as I switched from Nikon D70 to Canon 20D, 17-40 F/4 L, 70-200 F/4 L, 580 EX to start, and I think I am going to stick with Canon brand. Hope to learn from you all. Looks like really nice people here.

Regards,

Charles,

Welcome to the forum!!!

They are pretty good around here, just don't mention the 'X Factor' and you'll be right

That is some pretty nice kit for starting out with Canon though! Still longing for some glass like that!

Welcome... you've seen the light. There's no comparison between 20d and d70.

Canon and Nikon go back and forth like ford and chevy; for now Canon is on top.

When I pondered switching over to Nikon when my D30 was down for the 5th time, I wandered over to a few Nikon forums. Suprisingly they said to stick with Canon , because it still had less problems than the Nikon digital equipment.

Hope you enjoy your Canon gear.

what's X Factor?

X-factor you say? Well, allow me to explain..........

Just kidding :-)

Starting out with an awesome setup like that will definitely NOT leave you wondering if you made the right choice switching over to Canon.

Welcome, and congrats.

Hey ECHO - Welcome of course.
You will probably find a few things about your 20D that you are not thrilled with, but if you have been shooting for any length of time, you know that is true of any camera.

I might suggest that you visit a couple other forums.
Fred Miranda (.com) and Steves-Digicams (.com) they have excellent Canon DSLR forums.

If this is to be your 'home' you might consider filling out the profile section. It kinda shows you are serious about this site. Just good etiquette.

welcome once again !

welcome , welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome.......the appropriate way to say hi to a new forum person named Echo ...this is a great forum with nice people. I ask a question and almost always get a quick answer. Great resource for Canon owner and our head man Pekka really deserves a lot credit for the quality of this forum.
