View Full Version : Very small file sizes when saving from bridge

I did a search (quick) on this forum but couldn't find my answer.

I wanted to use bridge and the camera raw app that it has to open and adjust raw files, it seems to have much more control than dpp. I found out that bridge cs2 couldn't open the canon raw file of .cr2 So I found the Adobe DNG converter and converted my .cr2 files to dng files

Everything is still good, file size is about the same. now when I use bridge to view my new dng files i select one and use the command 'open with camera raw' I get it all dialed in and select save. It saves the file but the original dng file say of 10mb is 1.5mb at best.

Now, im not complaining about the increased space on my hard drive but I just feel as if I'm losing a lot of data!

I looked for settings and played with several but none seemed to have an effect on the amount of file size...

Thanks to any and all help.

Can you clarify? The DNG files are 1.5MB, or the JPGs it makes are 1.5MB? If it's JPG what quality level and resolution do you have bridge set to? It's controlled by the blue link under the image in ACR.
