The battery pack for the Photogenic Studiomax strobes is only $170, while a new turbo is $400.

Photogenic Studiomaxes can use Quantum Turbos, so can we use the AKB-1 pack with our small flashes (with quantum cables)?
Anyone know?

Sweet. B&H just answered my question:
The Photogenic 12 volt DC Power Battery Pack works with the Studiomax 160 and 320 ACDC monolights, SP Excalibur C1600ACDC monolight, SPC920ACDC, 147ACDC and 100ACDC units.
This pack also works with most flashes that can use the Quantum Turbo, and Lumedyne Mini Cycler battery packs. Power cords for these strobes made by Quantum and Paramount may be ordered from B&H separately.

The Photogenic pack is 2.3Ah while the Turbo is 3.2Ah.
According to Quantum's 500 flashes on a full turbo, the Photogenic pack will get ~360 flashes.
