Sunset from Mt. Hood - Panorama

After the sun had set and I was through with shooting Mt. Hood (other post on Mt. Hood), I put my camera away and started to drive out of the parking lot at Timberline Lodge. As soon as I pulled out a bit I saw this and had to stop and try to capture it. I pulled my camera out of the bag, which still had the 70-200 2.8L IS lens on it, rolled down the window and shot off several shots, including this group of 6 images that makes up the panorama.

Thanks. Yes, it was handheld, although I did have my shoulder and elbow proped on the window frame and the quick release on the lens in the palm of my hand. It came out better than I had hoped sharpness wise, but if I had not been getting the last ray of light from this sunset as it fell on Mt. Hood itself, I could have caught some really nice shots of the sun still showing through the clouds. I plan on going back over the next few days and trying it again, but from an angle where I can see both the sunset spot and the mountain. I might try and do a panorama series of shots from the sunset to the mountain... but I won't do it handheld. :D

Thanks, Nicky. I hope to get some more from up there, although if I'm going to get more sunsets it will have to be tomorrow because we have more rain down in the valley and snow up on Mt. Hood coming in Sat. So I'm going to try and get back up there Friday afternoon for the sunset.

I'll be sure and post them if I do. :D
