Italy pics. Your thoughts please & thx :)

Hi all, just got back from Italy. I am new to this hobby and shot these pics with a 40D. Most if not all of the daytime pics are with my Tamron 17-55 and the closeups and low light shots are done with a 50mm 1.4f. Please fell free to tell me what you like or dont like about these, and how I can improve. Thanks!

Aha, Ravello! I was there last year for a friends wedding, I think the old folk are the same as the ones I saw there :-)

I think you've had a good start at your new hobby. My opnions would be generally based around composition and exposure. The third shot holds no interest, apart for you.

Your exposure needs some work, there's plenty of suggestions about methods within these pages.

Everyone must start at the beginning (that sounds like Yogi Berra doesn't it) and to compare ones output with that of one less accomplished is somewhat tacky.

Looking at how other people shoot a scene helps with ideas on composition. That is one of the ways I have learnt from POTN and am offering the same.

Exposure is a different matter and I would suggest the book "Understanding Exposure" from Bryan Peterson, as a starting point.
