View Full Version : Replacing colour

I seem to be having some trouble replacing colour. We are trying to find another colour for our front door. So I take the photo of my house and select the door, then go adjustments, replace colour. I click on the door and it highlights it white in the box and I get it as good as I can and adjust the fuzziness so that what I'm changing appears white in the box. Then I go where it shows the colour and put in my #'s I got from the eye dropper tool on a different photo (88, 97, 94) or (153,78,82). But the door looks different than the colour I selected (usually I can only get it black or gray), and it usually looks very pastelle. Any tips...

Thanks!
The first one looks more pink than what I took the colour from but we really like the second one. Do you mind guiding me through how you did it. Like I was saying, when I do it it comes out all pastelle, a different colour and quite pixelated.

I use Corel PSP X2
Open image, use lasso tool to select the door

open the color pallete and key in the numbers you supplied

The house is really nice. It's missing a Flag on the right of the door. It will look better then. I like the old dark green color or the same as the siding. I use X2 also.
