It was in a very difficult position and i only managed these two quick shots before it decided to go. Extremly well camouflaged against these flowers. Ive never seen one like this before.

Seems similar to many of the Australian Crab spiders that I've seen. Good find and yes, I've had crab spiders do the exact same thing to me. Makes them hard to shoot.

Nice shots but I think number 2 is killer! The eyes look amazing!

Seems similar to many of the Australian Crab spiders that I've seen. Good find and yes, I've had crab spiders do the exact same thing to me. Makes them hard to shoot.

Its really frustrating, and as soon as they drop off the flower they always hide upside down:D Hopefully i will find it again, ive found that they tend to stick around the same flowers.

Thanks Hatch i was really glad to nail the eyes in both these shots. They almost look white in the second and it feels like its staring at me ;)

Yup, that's my experience with a lot of crab spiders. They are very shy, much more so than Jumpers.

Excellent find on this one. looks almost like a cross between a green lynx spider and a crab spider, I have not found one like this yet either.
