Hi guys,

Hope you can help.

I was wondering, I basically want to setup an office webcam. I'm using a Powershot A80.

All I need the cam to do, is take a photo at a set time period and upload to my websever if possible.

Failing that, some kind of remote control software so that at the click of a button I can take a photo and manually upload the image to the site.

Any ideas? I have also included a nice little Gallery script that I designed if anyone is interested.

Thanks

Normally there are some sort of remote-control programs on the CD that came with the cam, at least with my Ixus300 there was something like that.

Isn't a A80 a bit overkill for a webcam? I think you can buy webcams for about 20$ with all the soft needed.

Yeah it is a bit much, however it's only for the next fews days on the lead up to Xmas. There is no remote control stuff included unfortunatly.

Thanks for the reply. ;)

Reading this document :
http://www.canon.co.uk/Images/14_48337.pdf

I found this :

What’s more, Canon digital cameras can be controlled remotely via
your computer using RemoteCapture – enabling you to save images
directly to your computer’s memory. RemoteCapture also
incorporates a time-lapse function, providing a whole new world of
creative possibilities

That should be the thing you're searching for...

herewith (http://web.axelero.hu/rugo100/rc.htm) a very easy to use remote control program.
(with timer shooting, live viewfinder and with overlaying) Take a look on it, and drop me a line about your feeling.
