and i cant be more happy right now.
also ordered the cactus v2s wireless remote for off-cam flash.
now, i am considering a slave flash and since it will take a while before the remote arrives, which of these 2 flash will work wirelessly with the 580ex ii mounted on the camera?
the 430ex or the metz 48 af-1?
which is more better among the 2?
btw, im using 40D.
thanks.

I only know about the 430ex and it will work as a slave to the 580.

The 430ex would be a better choice in my opinion. With the 430ex you can use ETTL off camera with the 580ex as the master.

ETTL is wireless communication between the 580ex II and 430ex, right?
meaning i dont need those wireless triggers and receivers from ebay, right?
if so, how long is the range of the ETTL (say 20 meters? more?)
thank you!

As regards range, here's an extract from the manual :

430EX will work with 580. Watch out for line of site issues if you try and go outside. Inside it works like a charm.
What is the Cactus, and why did you buy it for a 40D and 580 Flash?
Does it work with ETTL ?
How much did it cost you?
PS If money isn't an issue don't rule out another 580. (More Power)
Note that the wireless settings can be set in the 40D menu section much easier than setting it on the flash itself. The manual is pretty worthless about telling you how to run the 580EX II from the flash, for wireless.
It's really easy from the menu's but flash has to be mounted.
