studiotime

i do alot of nightclub and studio shooting, but in a few weeks will be doing an event shoot outdoors (in 12noon harsh sunlight time, no less) w/people, and would love to get some tips from you guys :)
a polarizer and UV filter is obviously a given. and would like to use an iso of about 100-200 for saturation, and i normally shoot in Manual mode. but i addition what else do you think would help in dealing w/1--ensuring enough fill for people's faces, and 2--lessen the amount of that ugly green color in the background (from the UV sunlight)?
i plan to use my telephoto lens (70-200mm) to get some nice close-ups, and may also take my mid-lens (24-70mm) for some wide angles of the crowd. there will also be some performances on the outdoor stage - should i go Tv-priority? or should i stay in Manual?
thanks for ANY info/tips for this!
