As of now I just go to venues where decent, local bands are playing and shoot away. After I'm done PPing I email over the flickr link to them. I've started watermarking these as I dont particularly want to give them away for free. Is this standard procedure? I personally hate watermarking since they take away from the picture, but if I dont then it's easy to just grab it and go. what are peoples thoughts on this?

of course , you just got to watermark it. Its exposure for your photography and business. i watermark my images with my signature as of lately which isnt to distracting. But yes, I would say standard procedure.

On a image posted on the Net I do.

Not worried about other photographers stealing my images, just people who don't realize it is a crime to steal my images and use them in their own... whatever. Lot of dumb dumbs out there. So I will always water mark my images.

And if I think they will just crop it, I also add a cjm logo over the image at about 10% opacty.
