The best image of the year contest

The contest is over tomorrow Saturday January 15th 2005, this is the last 24 hours you can email me a photo. If your photo is not up by tonight please let me know.


The end of the year is finally here and there have been hundreds of images shared amongst our members. But who has the talent, the patients, the luck, and the know-how to capture the “Best Image of the Year”

How can you label an image as the best when there are so many different types of photography? Simple, chose an image that you feel will make people say “Wow!”

Any photograph has a “wow” factor, some more then others. Sports photos can make you say wow, nature photos can make you say wow, portraits and glamour can make you say wow. But which one does it the most. Which image is the “Best Image of the Year”?

Rules:
1.)One image per member
2.)Any subject/type
3.)No writing or text should be on the image
4.)All images should be 800 pixels in the widest dimension
5.)Entries must have been taken during 2004
6.)Minimal post processing to image
7.)Photos can be entered from now until January 15th 2004 (it has been brought to my attention that 1/15/04 has already passed, so i have extended the date a whole year) :lol: :oops:

All entries must be emailed to me at Canastaspeciale@yahoo.com
Information included should be:

Member name
Title
Shot info (shutter, aperture, ISO, lens, camera)
An explanation of the photograph if desired (who what where when etc), poems, stories etc, will be ignored.
For safe measure, title the image: MemberName.jpg


Voting will be via Poll after Jan 15th on these message boards. Only one vote per user, voting for ones self is not allowed as it is...well, cheesy.

I'm asking for member names so i can keep track a few things. For starters, i'm sure we all want to know who took what at the end after the voting. Also, it is a way for me to keep track of people trying to send in more then one photo from differnt emails, not really something i'm worried about, but ya never know.

If you guys want to put together some sort of fund for some sort of materialistic prize then go for it i guess.

Using a poll on the forum will do the same thing.

The only way i'm going to sort through the votes if we decide to allow more then one vote per user is by sending them to me via email or PM and i'd throw them in an excel file.

I just realized that the new software allows people to vote for more then one selection, i'll look into it a bit more

i think 36pics is not too much. I can see there are so many ones who still did not participate yet and I think their photos are even much greater than these 36pics (including mine for sure :-), now i realize that my pic is just a crap one, ugliest one, but who cares, the most impotant thing is sharing your hobby right?)

I will be out of town for the rest of htis week. I'm leaving tomorrow morning and will be getting back Sunday (i think).

You can still email photos, i'd prefer if you just waited but if you want to send them it really makes little difference in the end.

I just got home about 20 mins ago. I have to do all the unpacking...in the real world.

Then, no offense guys, but i intend on going through my photos first ;-).

Then, i'll check my email (i'm a little scared to right now).
