I got to wait 3 days! Well, I did do a little gift exchange here in town with some close friends. What did I get? Some really happy smiles from my friends. And that's enough for me.
OK, I got a couple of other items, but I really enjoyed seeing the happy recipients.

Got my Canon 100-400 from Santa (me). My girlfriend got me some fish shipped in from Africa to add to my fishy collection though, which was what I really wanted. Also got three books on how to utilize Photoshop CS. Just don't have time to mess around with getting to know everything about it.

Subscription to the Readers Union 'Focal Point' Book Club.
Currently reading 'Complete Guide to Night & Low Light Photography' and 'Perfect Exposure - Theory to Practice'
They don't seem to have a website or I would have posted but picked an Ad up from one of the photography magazines.

I'm getting the "nifty fifty" and a lowepro dryzone 200. The 50 is under the tree and I'm going to order the lowepro. Has anyone used it. I have no way locally to get my hands on one, but from what I read, it looks great.
Merry Christmas !!!!

I got one of my gifts already. A very nice lowepro lens bag for my 500. It is sweet. Thanks bud.
My greatest gift is that my children arrived in Montreal last night and we leave tomorrow for a week frolicking in the sun.

Starting in the fall, anything my wife and I buy for ourselves usually is justified by saying, "This will be my Christmas present." We usually end up throwing in a couple little surprises for each other, but major gifts are always self-selected. A last-minute case of flu eliminated the opportunity to buy any little surprises, but we're both happy anyway.
I bought the FD 600mm lens, the FD-EOS converter, and the Wimberly gimble-type head. She bought a stupid purse**.
(**Don't feel sorry for her. the purse cost about 3 times what I spent on myself.)

A 1D Mk-II. UPS delivered it a couple of hours ago and the battery's charging as we speak. I'm on cloud nine -- so is my credit card balance!

I got a 20D (pressie to me)
The rest is a suprise, although I have been told recently as I was about to order a couple of books not to unless I want them twice.

I have not got it yet, . . . . but under the tree is a Canon Macro Twin Lite MT-24X. It got there by magic. My wife said "what do you want" and I referred her to my wish list at B&H. It arrived UPS 2 days later.
Should be fun! (What a wife!)

Hey CyberDyne, I can tell by the way you use your walk, your a ladies man, no time to talk! I got a new Gateway 520s plus notebook with a 3.06 P4 . My wife who is not a gadget person wanted a Canon IP 6000d printer so she can print off of her CF card from her A80. Im a lucky man as I have never had an electronics request from her in 26yrs of marriage. Merry Christmas everyone.

Found my old slippers. I just misplaced them  Still got my new ones though. :D The most exciting thing I got was an autographed Kewl hat by Chris Drury. The proceeds go to spinal research. Only 50 made. :D

I generally end up with at least one lamer a year, but I've never responded in that manner. I graciously thank the giver, and the gift either gets recycled next Christmas, or finds it's way into the nearest landfill.
The Bee Gees are pretty good, if you like soft rock. :)

Hey, looks nice. Love to see some shots from the new lens. I have been looking
at this one (among others). I was also curious about Sigma's 18-125mm lens.

Not so much for Christmas, camera wise; my wife knows better than to buy anything for that!
But for my birthday in mid-January, I'm being sent to the local Henry's for Boxing Day (week) events with the blessing, and generous cash donation, to fulfill my slave flash, light reflector and tripod needs!
Christmas was mainly fulfilling the golf requirements; balls, equipment and donation to annual membership. A rather cute NutCracker made upas a golfing Scotsman.
Happy New Year

Camera stuff: Monopod ... pod mounting ring for 70-200/4L lens ... tilt/swivel head for monopod ... extra quick release plates. :D
Non-camera but photography "related": bird feeder equipment ... to be constructed as "super feeder" in the manner of Scottes, Jerry Z, et.al. :D
