I have blown this up to 20x30 inches and it is very sharp - no editing

Nice shot other then little blown out highlights on left corner, btw, how do they put those rings on her neck? lol, just curious.

Cheers,

Nice!

The colors are pretty.

I am a people person, and will admit to not knowing this culture, but I think the girl's expression is a little pained. Is this a desired expression? Not to be too critical, but as a wise instructor once told me "ESP; Expression Sells Photographs!"

lol Echo - maybe your wife should get a fitting.

Cricket - I did not notice the pained look - it was more an exression of pride in her cullture that I remember. However - theses are horrendous and non-correctable things they do to young girls

That's an excellent photo (other than the upper left corner which can be fixed in post-processing). I take it the 20D isn't your 1st camera.

Merry Christmas :)

I am a bit od a novice who has recently taken up digital after giving up processing my own some years ago.
What is wrong with the upper LH corner - the aperture was 2.8 70-200 L prime Canon and I thought it looked good (given that the original background scene was not pleasant)?

I framed the 20x30 inch one and the wife has it in the Study

I had a 300d for a short time and wanted to get the real camera feel again.

Kinda of blown out on my calibrated monitor, just little nit, nothing to worry over,

What is wrong with the upper LH corner There is no detail in that part of the photo and the brightness leads (my) eye over there instead of to the girl. If that is a light, then perhaps a little darkening in Photoshop would fix the "glare". This may show up on a computer monitor much more so than in a print BTW.

It's a great shot, I'm just trying to be helpful :)

Merry Christmas.

I dont see why having a blown out area that is not main subject but rather part of the out of focus bokeh matters. I can see that it may draw your eye from the subject, but if you maintained the detail (which really wouldnt matter since it's out of focus anyway), how would that be different?
Just wondering.
Btw, those rings on the neck give the women an appearance of really long necks. It's a status symbol. However, in reality, the necks are no longer than the average person. The illusion is created when the collar bones are pushed and stretched downward. [you can learn alot of useless junk on tv] ;)

Very nice picture. I guess this is what happens when your mother says, "Don't slouch", and you don't listen...

Thanks Drisley - I think that is what I meant to say

I didnt even notice the top left corner. First thing I noticed was her expression, secondly was the rings around her neck. Subconsciously the vivid colors kept me staring at it. Very nice capture

....the aperture was 2.8 70-200 L prime Canon ....
I am certain that that is not a prime Canon lens. It's a zoom, right? ;)

Thanks Reminisce - yes when I look I bypass the out of focus top left and straight to those eyes
