Hey, I'm about to pull the trigger for a copy of Adobe Lightroom via a student discount I get through my daughter. The "system requirements" per the link below where I intend to buy it:
http://www.academicsuperstore.com/products/Adobe/Photoshop+Lightroom/786947
denotes the system requirement as Windows XP SP2 and doesn't specify Vista. I contacted the sales rep and he didn't sound too confident, he just gave me "well, if it works with XP and Vista is newer, it should work. You should want to make sure you don't run it with a Windows version older than XPSP2". He didn't have the LR version either. So my question is, if its a slightly older version of LR, does anyone know if it simply won't work with Vista?

thanks!

Even if it's an older version of LR, you can immediately update to 1.4.1. I'm running that with Vista with no glitches, other than the fact that Vista is a resource hog.

Fine on Vista...

side note, be aware that a new version of LR will be coming likely this year sometime... though the academic discount price IS a bargin, even if you were to buy two this year. (barring any possible price drop Adobe may do to compete with Aperture's price.)

There is even a beta for version 2 that you can trial (and if you get an invite to beta2 you can use it until end of August I think... invites are easy to get... check out the beta2 forums over at Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=72&catid=678&threadid=1358963&enterthread=y

Just make sure you have enough RAM. I have 3 GB and it works well.
