i just purchased a mark II and noticed white spots on some of the images. different places and different patterns. the images were shot at 2.8.

any ideas what this could be?

Dandruf? Snow?
Take a pic at F2 (or as low as you can), F10, and F30 (or as close as you can). Post them, and people might be able to help you narrow down the problem.

It looks like dust particles in the air caught in the sun-rays, nothing to do with your camera. A longer exposure will elimenate this. It can be very atmospheric sometimes....!

Yup- I'll go for the dust spots too. Pretty hard light coming in through the window !!

Is that a crop or the full image resized? I agree, it's probably outside your camera, but it may be on the filter/front element depending on the aperture and lens in use.
