I'm looking for a backpack style camera bag and have looked at a few. There are a lot available and they all seem to differ in different ways. I was wondering whether any have stood out for any of you. I'm looking for something for day hikes to accommodate one SLR body and about 3-4 lenses (largest 70-200) and a flash.

I have the Lowepro Mini AW. IT carry's all my lens, plus my DR with the 70-200 connected to it. Also carry's my tripod.

I'm not buying anything until I can afford to get the $150 completely waterproof Lowepro - htat thing is so sweet.

Right after I got my Canon digital camera, I got the big Lowepro backpack. I thought that would be just the thing. Well, it is good if you have to carry about 30 pounds worth of gear, but your stuff is all behind you and not very accessible in a hurry. Besides, if you have to carry it far with 30 pounds of gear in it, you aren't going to be much good for concentrated photography.

Then I got a small Lowepro shoulder bag. I thought that would be just the thing. It does keep your gear more accessible, but it wasn't large enough.

Finally (and this is not very stylish) I started using a very large canvas shopping bag. This one has a zippered top, and it is big enough to hold about 15 pounds worth of camera and lenses, all pretty accessible. Cheap.

My vote goes for the Lowepro Mini AW - stunning carrying capacity and very comfortable to carry.

Merry Xmas,

OneManArmy,
Are you talking about the lowepro dryzone 200? I have been reading about it but haven't actually seen one. If you have seen it, I would be interested in how it compares to the AW trekker II. Santa has promised me a backpack but I need to pick it out and order.

Merry Christmas !!!!
