I have seen a number on threads on the Web recently about painting with light. I find the concept to be rather ambiguous. One can "paint with light" in lots of ways.

I added a Learning Gallery to my site that demonstrates how to apply a low key lighting effect that leaves the image looking like a photograph rather than like a painting.

If there's interest, I'll add more Learning Galleries that explore other ways to "paint with light." The idea of "painting with light" has applicability to more than just low key images.

Comments are welcome!

This is a great tutorial. I can see myself referring to this as I learn. Thanks Mitch.

I love PS tutorials. I played around with this a little before but this is a good tutorial (and nice example of it's usage) and one to bookmark. Thank you.
