Hi!
The first photo is some artwork in Venice Beach, CA and the second is in Sedona, AZ. There is no post photo work done. All by hand with a late 70's early 80's Canon.

I know you're probably thinking why doesn't this girl know more but the camera was passed down to me and I am a novice. I just wanted to share and see if any of you pros had advice for me.

Many thanks in advance

Nice! I might crop the second one differently -- I like the picture, but the car fender near the bottom doesn't really work for me. That's a personal preference, though, of course.

What model was the Canon? I have an old AE-1P that I love; I've only just gone to digital, and I'm finding myself missing some things about the old film camera.

Thank you for the comment. I never thought about cropping the car out. I just might mess with that. I wish I knew what model my camera was. I do not have it near me or I would tell you what info was on it. It was passed down to me from my mom who really doesn't know either! Gotta love a mystery. It truely is magnificant though I love what it can do. If it can make me look good its gotta be good ;)

Here are a couple more shots from that trip......

Ah, the mystery camera! Fun! Does it have a filter on it, or was the coloring done during the developing?

I love the most recent shot, the fourth one you put up. It's a little grainy, but I like the composition a lot. The third one looks like a little overexposed (or possibly it was just a hazy day... I can't quite tell on this not-very-good monitor.)

So glad you liked that last one -- I like it too! The church is called Chapel of the Holy Cross and it is so amazing. The energy in there is intense~~~
The coloring was actually done during development but only on the CD...the hardcopy does not look like that. The 3rd one may be a bit over exposed but it was very early in the morning and up in Sedona it can get a lil foggy so that is mostly what's going on.

My camera does have a filter...(so funny you ask)....but I didn't learn about it until after these shots were taken. Like I said COMPLETE novice here. I am getting ready to have the cam taken to a shop for a thorough cleaning and a new battery. It hasn't had either since I've had it and thats been a good 8 yrs!

The cleaning isn't a bad idea, but if the battery still works, you probably don't need to replace it. Having a spare is a good thing, though.

You might want to think about taking a photography class from a local community college or something, if you can find one: I've been hoping to find one for myself, but I haven't had a chance yet. Barring that, these forums are a good way to get a lot of good information. 8-)
