I love the way you two travel...

It will actually be the three of us. We're taking the truck so Dollie can come along. We just don't have the heart to board her at the kennel. She really doesn't do that well.

here is my go at texture. Just used one of the patterns in photoshop, and an image from recital. Not the best technical image. Its my sister.

Some people hate my voicemail.

It will be me saying, "Hello? Who is this? I cant hear you......and thats why you should leave a message and Ill get back to you as soon as I can." Im chuckling at the end of it too, I have had a many message with them starting out with..."you lil sh*t/a$$/b@$tard etc etc.lol." ...

Mine says "Hi, we are not able to come to the phone right so please leave a message and we will get back to you. Unless, of course, you are a salesperson in which case just hang up and leave us the hell alone!"

Belmondo
5th of June 2008 (Thu), 20:52
...... what does a Eucalypis tree look like? I love that smell...They are very ugly, especially when laying on their side or draped over the roof of a car or house.;)

kja

I don't know LOL I'm still a bit brain fried here.

Kathy H

Thanks Stephanie. I'm having fun experimenting:D

Now I have to go pay bills, UGH! My least favorite thing to do, it ranks right up there with my real job right now:p BUT only 4.5 more days and I'm outta there for summer break!

I'll be back later, if I miss you easterners, Good night.

Anyone know any good movies out in the theater right now? ITs me and hubby's 7 year anniversery on Monday, and we are going out to dinner and a movie w/o the kiddos!

(and yes, I got married at 18--and no, I wasn't knocked up)

Hummmm, you know, I was thinking when I was doing it that the texture looked cool on the flower petals. Maybe I should have textured it and left the background alone.

I wish my husband had time to figure out why our dvd burner isn't working on the desktop. I'll just burn them all on the laptop. It just takes FOREVER.

I'm hoping a new desktop is in the future....

Back in SF again on the 27th July for another few days, too.You never know. We're up there a couple times a month, and out trips could overlap. In fact, we frequently travel north in early July, and again in early August. We actually have reservations for David Bromberg in Reno on August 2. We will probably go through the Bay Area on our way there (or home).

LeesaB

GM does not fool around. One guy had his house deal signed before he ever came down, I have NO idea how he could do that.

My Husband has been out every day looking at houses...this is the first we liked,....

we wanted one we could add on and fix up and make it the way we wanted it, we got it and land. and city water(that is way cool)

We've not bought it yet, but we think it is the one we will go for

LeesaB
5th of June 2008 (Thu), 23:16
Well a good friend of mine called me this morning and said he had a great idea....

this was scary LOL...but he told me how me and my daughter can meet 4 hours in each way for us, like road trip, not too long and yet see each other more. We both loved that idea and figure we can do that at least 2 times a month,

Plus keeping the business in Ohio and grow it in St.Louis I'll be back a lot, just have to book more weddings!

So we will see...I'll cry a lot I am sure, it's the only thing I care about leaving are her and Ami.

Morning.

I hate AC as well, but I made a deal with my wife. If the temp goes above 85, we turn the AC on. With her being pregnant as well, that makes things a little different this summer.

My strawberries are starting to turn, so that's good. I should have a pretty good crop of them this year.

That's actually an old picture. The 500 f/4 is gone, but replaced with a 600 f/4 (slightly bigger box). A few of the others are different, but overall, that's pretty much what things look like right now.

The lens without a box is my 85 f/1.2L which I bought used, and the body is my old 1D Mk II. I used the box to send my even older 1D to the buyer in Canada.

It's a great lens. I haven't had the chance to do much with it yet (this weekend will be a test for it). It did, however, do this (note, these were not wide open):

Stephanie,

My standard wedding pair is the 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS on the 30D and 85MM f/1.8 EF on the dRebel XT. I have shot over a dozen weddings with this combo. I absolutely love the 85MM f/1.8...it makes tack sharp portraits and pull back a bit...group shots as well.

I have a wedding on the 20th & 21st of June in Cumberland, MD...I am adding the 5D and the 24-105 f/4 EF L to this mix :)

Lisa,

You have 2 x 40D already...all you need is a couple of fast primes to complement your excellent zooms :)

LeesaB
6th of June 2008 (Fri), 11:26
well, when I move my assitant will keep the other 40D with her and I will come back to shoot weddings with her. SO, while in St. Louis I will need a 2nd body for me and a nice prime. Oh well..it will happen, slowly it all will come into order!

Chris Dana

Chris Dana
6th of June 2008 (Fri), 13:03
I'm doing a little better. Just a long-ass week. Too much stuff to get done around the house and at work right now.

But I did realize that by next month, I will have paid off close to half of my student loans in 3.5 years' time. I don't have as much as some, but it's a substantial amount for someone on the crappy post doc salary I'm on right now.

I know they are low interest but they still hang over your head, I was glad to get ours paid off. Done done and done!

Now i just make more bills etc.

I was looking at the sell forum for the 85, most just offer like 50 bucks cheaper, I might as well buy it new.

Yeah, I'm going to consolidate next month when the interest rates are set to drop a fair amount.

We wanted to have them all paid off before the baby came, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen unless I come into a crapload of money.

The 85 is such a great lens, it seems to hold it's value very, very well over time. Great value for the dollar.

Omgosh, Macho man, I loved him and Hulk Hogan. My kids used to make us take them to WWF battles all over Ohio and Pa.

That is so funny. we have every trading card and figure ever made. I wonder if they will give them to other kids when we move?

yeah well, you know you used to have a little signature down there that said how I felt.:D

I seriously have copied probably 3 other tutorials off line and could not get them to work, yours made it all very easy and simple and I did it, that is what is more amazing!

I just bought one of these! It's waiting for me at my Mom's in San Francisco - thought I could wait a few weeks and not have to pack it LOL Not getting much shooting time anyway right now.

Chris - the flowers are gorgeous!! I can't wait to play with mine.

Today looks to be a mellow day for me...hang some new underwater prints for sale in the shop, complete a sample book (that I actually hope to sell to the bride's mom) and send it off, putter...not a bad way to spend a Saturday!

Let me know how you like it, seems Chris loves his :-)

I think the best thing about a prime is "you" are the zoom, no more zooming in and out, it's you that has to move.

Guess what just happened to me? I need friends right now. :(

I started my printer to print a 5x7 and two cartridges were empty. So, I went to my stash and there is no black one! :( I think I'm going to faint. Tomorrow, first thing, I have to visit Staples. I've never not had a cartridge in the box ready to go. I must not be paying enough attention.

LeesaB

and I can concentrate on the mac Pro Book I want to get.

and and and..

So much..

Where is everyone?

I had a rehearsal, lovely couple, wedding tomorrow, but one ring bearer, well, if he did what he did tonight, I promise some really cute pics, that is all I can say!

The church has this awesome stunning 14 foot tall stained glass window, when we walked inside and spoke with the pastor he said, Oh, it's behind that door, he points to a door, so later on I open the door, and look, the've made it a closet with stairs, they closed up this amazing glass window, so tomorrow IF the sun is not too brilliant, I plan on taking some shots in the "closet"

Our church in Brooklyn had a beautiful stain glass window and someone decided it was too religious. Well, they took it down and put a wall there. I was so sad. I think someone did save it, though. If I had a house to build, I may just have bought it and put it in a closet just for me. :) Have fun in the closet, Leesa.
