Hello again people.
I am working on a senior girl right now so I should have some images up before too long.
James 400 shots for the customer means about 600 for the photographer! LOL Remember you have to have some culls! :D Congrats on that though, that's really great!

Will do. Well, I'm off to get some much needed beauty rest...
Lisa, I'm glad the temp in St Louis has dropped, it hasn't here! it's still 90+ degrees although the humidity has dropped to 60% finally.

Oh and James...remember at least the 1st few shots will not be that good till you make her comfortable...I never count those first few shots till I get them to laugh and relax...
My next E session, the guy is wound so tight, I am already working out my game plan for him!

The photographer I work for did our e-session and wedding. I thought she was going to kill me a couple of times because I don't really do a decent smile on command.
Bring a baseball bat. Tell him that if he doesn't relax, you'll make him relax.

What would I do if my cat was constipated? Let me see.

Kristin what is wrong with the dog?
She's got ongoing infections in her ears and on her skin due to allergies. It's kind of like hayfever. Things are pretty good right now and so we're going to try a spin on the usual treatment to see if we can't kick this over and maybe prevent worse attacks. Worth a shot, anyway.
You'd go from cleaning up the litter box to cleaning up vomit, Tom. Pick your poison. :p

She then poops them sometime later along with her regular business.Usually the string remains, hanging an inch or two out of her rectum. I have to get a tissue and pull it the rest of the way.

She just wants pictures of them during the day (thankgoodness!!) as they go about their vacation and said that they would pay for me to do that...
Has anyone here done that?

Lisa - thanks! I really need to get my butt in gear and get some more stuff up from the trip. Love your new one...great to see what's happening.

We're at just under $2/litre right now, so just under $8/gallon. And while I saw prices drop at the pump while in the States over the past couple of weeks, we here in rural Australia have not seen a drop at all - which is just plain wrong, imho.
Cool on the expodic, Chris!
I was in a weird state while in the US - just didn't feel like shopping so didn't pick up the FlipIt, the Tokina 10-17, tripod or much of anything else that was on my list so now I get to pay shipping. Stupid, really, but oh well.

Thought I would pop in real quick and see what's happening before I go cook dinner.
Kristin the blog is GREAT! I especially LOVED the San Francisco parts, that's my old stomping grounds.:D I nearly cried when I saw The Cliff House! We used to spend many weekends down there, there used to be a boardwalk, midway with rides and a FANTASTIC old Fun House. The images you took of that area brought back many happy memories for me. Thanks for sharing!
Chris got new toys! Pose the cat with them.:)

I loved the San Francisco shots, Kristin. I bet I could tell you within 5 ft just where all those shots were taken. The Cliff house is a pretty good place to eat. Surprisingly, a lot of locals eat there.....it's not all tourists. They make a sensational Bloody Mary there.
We're heading up to Reno for the weekend, so I hope I'll have some photos to post this weekend. I'm not sure how much room I'll have for camera equipment in the car, but by golly, I'm going to take something.
Lois says she's going to 'pack lightly.' Translation: "Instead of one large suitcase and 27 smaller pieces of luggage, I'll be taking one medium sized suitcase and 27 smaller pieces of luggage." It might be the difference between taking a 40D with the 24-105 instead of just the G9.

Wow, no wonder I don't know it - I didn't even go there until the early 80s for the first time! Shame, it's a cool area.
Isn't it fun to walk down memory lane? One of the things that pissed me off about my computer death was that I had just finished scanning over 100 old family photos an hour before (computer was working flawlessly, I even commented on how well it was running!) and I lost those as I was in a hurry to get out the door so didn't back 'em up to the ColorspaceO.
Oops!

Hi everyone...
Kathy I told my husband i would go with him to find a church, so, we in all of our wisdom (ha ha ha) are trying to pick a church. Some of these places are amazing and large. The one I like the best has 5k members... amazing
I'm home...well, as home as I can be in Missouri. LOL
Tomorrow busy day, check out a town close to ours for shopping etc. and take our son to school orientation How fun!
kja

So...I just keep picking away at it

Thunder, lightning, and a rainstorm with drops as big as golf balls! It was soooooooo cool. Now it smells like summer rain, I love that smell!
Power went out for about 20 minutes so we just sat outside and watched the storm.

You know Lisa, I still have not gotten to talk to my daughter. She calls and leaves messages, but I never catch her. Her last message was that she bought a new laptop, a mac, on tax free day.
Hopefully I'll actually get to talk to her soon.

HI :)
Well, Thursday is kinda hectic, then kinda slow and very tiring - just so you all know what you're getting into :D
I'm struggling to stay awake for at least another hour or so coz I want to force myself back onto a real schedule - this being up and working at 2am after four hours of sleep has got to stop!

Hi all! Speaking of cakes, I made my chocolate fudge cake last night and it was delicious! I think I'll be eating it all week. :) Bad mommy!
We went to Olive Garden last night and our son's birthday dinner there. Everyone behaved and the food was filling. We took 1/2 of it home. Next to our table a boy had his birthday as well and his parents had a dslr taking tons of pictures and I laughed. I left my camera home and didn't bother as my family gets too embarrassed now.

Suzie my family begs me to leave the camera in the trunk when we go anywhere "inside" public. They can deal with it for awhile if we are outside somewhere but have also told me that it's "embarrasing" sometimes and they feel like hiding from me! LOL
Good morning all!
Huge thunder & lightning storm going on and I am shutting down the computer for a bit.
See ya later.....YIKES!

I don't like "current styles" but otherwise it's sounding like a good track to take. Might be easy to slip into cheesy so you'll need to watch that, but it sure has the potential to be bright, fun and outgoing!

These will be 8x10 flyers handed out to juniors and seniors at local high schools in Missouri, since I'm new in town I wanted to make something like a new girl in town, like a new classmate etc.
kja
7th of August 2008 (Thu), 20:42
Ah cool, for high schoolers! Do you think "modern" works for that? I guess as a high schooler I would have thought "modern" being mentioned more like some stodgy old guy trying to be cool...but that could just be me!
LeesaB
7th of August 2008 (Thu), 20:49
I don't know any hip cool sayings or adjectives besides Emo LOL or grunge
not sure that would work in this spectrum LOL
I also would love to write a bit about how we shoot, outdoors and how we feel about it. etc.

Maybe just let your images work for you and stick with something very simple like your New Girl in Town phrase? Then have a little blurb about valuing individual looks, not just your average senior portrait etc...
LeesaB

Nice shots, Adam! Almost gives me the push I need to get out and shoot something again ;)
Lisa - I'm always up in the air for wording with that age group. They seem to be really diverse, but more than that a slight mis-wording and you're tarred for life LOL I dunno - we don't have seniors here so it's tough for me. But simple, classy and high-spirited images with a few well chosen words that aren't trying to be "cool" seems like it should work well.

HI EVERYONE!
This weather today is just crazy! We have been hit by nearly back to back storms all day, since 6am. Thunder, lightning, heavy downpours, & hail. We get about 10 minutes every hour of sultry sunny heat, then black skys again!
Hopefully I get a few minutes on here before the power starts flashing again.
Cool shots Adam, the lady and the nature shots.
Lisa I think I would go with something like....
"Now available in your area" "Senior Portraits done your way"
"Creations Photography" "We Shoot to please YOU"
or some nonsense like that :D Okay I'm nuts:p
