How is the house coming along?

LeesaB
25th of September 2008 (Thu), 21:08
well, we have a bathroom done, waiting on the windows so we can go to town, we had someone look at our home and they are interested,.,,,so we will see, I may be down here sooner then I thought.

It's beautiful here, I look up and see the stars, could never do that before

I just booked a wedding for next July 5th and the person is a girl I have not seen for about 5 years, she saw my blog and left a comment saying she would like me to shoot her wedding. COOL!:D

Kathy - that's awesome on the wedding!

And I'm doing well, thanks for checking in ;)

I am not, however, overly excited about this weekend. Hubby has decided that the yard sale is on Sunday. I HATE having yard/garage sales. Detest it. sigh...

Hi all. Emerging from my Vicodin induced grog.... can't wait until I feel more normal again.

Read this and (sorry) laughed out loud! It made me remember my most recent Vicodin induced gala. I felt so horrible, EVERYTHING ached, I had some Vicodin left from a dentist visit several months before, so.......I fully intended to take it and rest, but I felt so damn good when EVERYTHING quit hurting that I went out and did a weeks worth of yard work in about 3 hours, I had a GREAT day. Unfortunately Vicodin does wear off, and all that activity did me absolutely no good, the next day I wished I would just DIE!

Please rest!:)

I slept off and on all night and all day. Tomorrow morning my grandson is getting an award at school and I fully intend to be there to see it (and take photos). I am changing over to Aleve :)

I have boxes and boxes of "stuff" that I have been going to have a yard sale for. Every time I seriously think about actually having a sale, I find some reason not too! I'm with you, I detest having them.

Amen to that! As a nurse, I dish this stuff out like crazy but I don't know how the patients do it. I took one pill at midnight, one pill at noon and one pill at 7 p.m. and I am looped.

I can't take much of it, but it sure does take the pain away! ALL the pain!:)

I can see how people get addicted to things like that though, if you just want to live numb and not really care about anything, it would definately do the job.

Me either, I don't behave well with the influence of either, so I am a pretty cheap date too.:D

Well, I guess I better go get some sleep, Friday tomorrow means 8 hours at my job then I have a senior shoot in the afternoon in a town 40 miles away.

Good Night!:)

Thanks, Kristen. I am starting to feel human again and it's only been 24 hours!! People were telling me 3-7 days before I would feel up to anything but I am going out for a short walk tomorrow and attend my grandson's award ceremony. I am allowed to start driving Saturday :)

No you are not..... everyone told me 3-5 days before I would venture outdoors. I did run a few small errands this afternoon, came home and rested a bit, then took about 1/2 mile walk. Now I'm done for ;) I am staying away from the Vicodin, tho. I do not like that stuff. I am managing okay on Aleve.

Glad you're doing well, Mo.

My only experience with Vicodin was when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I made the mistake of taking a Vicodin in the afternoon when my stitches were bothering me. I took it about 15 minutes before I had to teach a class. Woof.

Elaine and I had breakfast with Suzy this morning. We met at the Cracker Barrel to hand off my CDs of the Wedding photos of Kami and Hank to Suzy.

No sunrise pics today...it is overcast with light rain. Bummer! Oh well there is always football this afternoon :) Georgia-Alabama should be a great game! Ditto for Penn State-Illinois!

Thanks for the comments on Suzy's "flower" photo...I told her at breakfast this morning to stop in and a take a look.

Got me a new toy yesterday...a WB card for onsite custom WB adjustments...it is 20" when deployed and the reverse side is a white reflector :-)

AND his products are GOOD! That's what I was referring to. I get very upset with so many of the Hollyweirdos when they start pontificating on how the government should be taking better care of the poor and downtrodden, while they joyride through life with their millions of dollars. Paul Newman actually did something, and he deserves a lot of credit for that. Joanne Woodward is a class act, too. it's rare to find celebrity couples who stay together for 50 years.

Thanks for the heads up Leesa (no pun intended;))

Tom these are good shots, but not what I was expecting the other day when I said I was anxious to see the shots because I was having a hard time posing boy seniors and wanted some ideas.......I am no way doing anything like these with seniors! OMG!

It was quite a nice surprise! And it's very tastefully done. I would have no idea how to pose a nude man for a picture.

Well thank you Kathy... We definitely weren't going for any kind of "erotic" look....

And here's one of my shoots from today... It's ok Lisa... you can look... no nudes here! This was just a senior portrait (kinda)... she's not a senior yet... just modeled for me so I can get my marketing material together for this coming spring. ;)

You guys (kathy and tommy) both use those Efex and like them..

Maybe I'm just not doing it right, but they just don't seem to work for me like the other things I used before that.

Hmmm

I will give it one more try with this wedidng next week and see..

I have not been using them lately, I have just been running stuff through as fast as I can get away with, no fancy photoshop stuff right now for me, I am so behind and I work nearly around the clock! This happens every year at this time though having weddings, sports and seniors all at the same time is hectic! So I am not surprised. I am however doing the best I can to keep up with editing instead of procrastinating and getting really behind. After last year..........................UGH!

The thing about Color Efex is that by themselves, they tend to be 'too much.' I do them in a separate layer, then adjust the transparency to reduce the effect. It seems to work more often that way then just using the filter at 100%.

Lisa, you asked Tom in his people post about the picture of the girl with the umbrella/street scene. Were you wanting to know about how he got the effect of the girl standing out so much from the soft background?

I was just over in RRTP. Nobody got very excited about my new Huey Pro colorimeter (sp?). For the first time EVER, my monitors are in synch. If I drag a POTN window so that it straddles both screens, the background matches.

That has always bugged me, and my old Huey would only do one monitor.

OOOooooooohhhhhhhhh! I have not checked into that, my Huey only does one monitor so I only use one to work images. Hummmmm that would be very handy, I will be looking into one of those. Right now I have the nice Huey prompted color on one screen and a gross blah way to dark and dingy look on the other.

Both of my monitors are Apple Cinema Displays....one 23" and a 30". Obviously I use the 30" for image editing, but now I can use both should I ever find a need for it..

More windows to install, a mall to visit..

Going to purchase one of those (how do you explain) tri fold privacy wooden things that you can put about 12 8x10's in. I want to use it for my office.

Derweissehai

Ok I'm in and out.....deicided to keep smug mug after all. I looked at the photos I was seting up and the final outcome on the page couldn't handle the resolution I want..made the photos grainy and the colors way off. Smug is great in the colors and size options. At least I didn't spend the money on something that would have turned out really bad.
