I never did get a good workflow in Bridge - and Lightroom lets me whiz through things. Everyone I know who has been bitching about slow workflows is using Bridge and when they change to LR it's like this little light goes on and they're like "now that makes it all fun again"!

I love lightroom, it's amazing!

So right now I'm removing everything I can from my PC to hope it works better, not even faster, just stops freezing on me, UGH, I need to buy more time till I get the notebook!

LOL I just upgraded the RAM on my laptop yesterday. Been meaning to do it for almost two years.

So we bought two 1GB RAM sticks coz that's what I thought the web site said I needed. Hubby pulls the laptop apart yesterday to find out the stick that is in there is a 256, not a 512 like I thought it was, and that there is only ONE slot, not two.

At least now I'm running 1GB :)

So you really CAN run Lightroom, PSCS3 and even Premiere Pro on WAY less than they say you can LOL

But I'm hoping this will make things even better!

I love Jack Handey, in fact I even have a book of his Deep Thoughts. This is one of my favorites:

When you go for a job interview, I think a good thing to ask is if they ever press charges.

Now it's time for my question of the day......

My son "moved" files from my CF card onto his computer. I told him to import, not move, but he didn't listen. Can he "move" the RAW files from the computer back to the CF card?

no expert, but I don't see why he can't. They are just files, raw but files.

Hummmm, that's interesting. Gives me more ammo to argue with my son though.:D

I had a tissy fit when he told me he moved the images instead of just importing. I think he did it on purpose to kind of teach me a lesson...long story, and I did deserve it:( But it still irritated me, I wanted the card back with the images TODAY and when I called and asked him to leave it out where I could get it, that's when he informed me what he had done.

ok, got the bridals done, the bridal book done. all of the new orders for her mil from teh engagement session invoiced (not ordered)

what's left to do
wedding album #1
wedding pics #2
weddling album #2
image cd for #1 and #2

and then get a pbase set up.

kja

I don't know why moving the files alone would muck up the EXIF. I move RAWs from hard drive to jump drive to hard drive to disk and back and forth all the time and my EXIF stays intact.

Sounds busy, Steph!

Morning! Everyone is out today. I'm doing some PP and then out to lunch. It's 80 high today. Oh, I'm so happy. Last night we had these crazy storms again. What is going on in the world with the weather?

I'm thinking about selling my 70-200 f4 just because I don't use it much. I still love that lens, though. Now that I have the 100-400, don't need it.

HEY we are on at the same time! wow, amazing summer vacation!
Yep! And I am usually an early riser. I have so much to do. I am trying to work on the wedding pics from Saturday so I can have them done before this weekend when I have another wedding. I'll share some when I get them done, they are not the greatest, LOTS of family posed stuff, UGH !

LeesaB
17th of June 2008 (Tue), 08:06
I had a dream last night I put up all my OOF shots and everyone went nuts and tore me up, LOL.

I am done with the wedding, working on two albums a couple brides picked out their images and now waiting on the other three.

I too have a wedding this weekend, a military one but he swears he is not wearing his uniform, I thought he had too, he's even active. So I have no idea. Guess we will see when I get there LOL. Plus it's a local wedding and I like to be closer to home.

I still have the retreat pics and Ami's birthday to get to, maybe later on today I will at least upload them. UGH.

I need to learn how to replace a person in a picture or more like add one from another picture, I have two images to do that too....more to learn, it's great.

Kathy H
17th of June 2008 (Tue), 08:13
Ohhhhhhhh, have fun replacing people in pics. If you figure out how to do it where it doesn't look funny, let me know! I have done it a few times in the past, or I should say tried to do it, and it didn't look so good! Finally sent it off to Burrell Colour and had one of their experts do it.

LeesaB

Good Morning Everyone :)

Didn't get the chance to test the new diffuser last night...got a panic call from my daughter...toilet was not working and her husband was on a AMTRAK run. So, went over to make emergency repairs...simple fix...the chain the pulls the flapper broke...one paper clip later it was fixed. Of course we had to visit and have cookies with the grandkids.

I'll try again tonight.

Most important are shadows. They give away a graft quicker than anything else.....i.e., one person's nose shadow is on one side of their face while everyone elses's is on the other.

One is for a man whose one brother did not make it t the family get together. The other is of ME :-) who they wanted to put in the group shot, so we took a few without me and then one with me and missing the other girl taking pics. I dunno, I may just run it out to the lab while I have them make up my 11 x13 enlargements with white borders! :-)

As much as I'd love the company, you could buy a lot of pancake mix for what you'd spend on gas just getting here. My last fill up was $4.89 per gallon.

Could be worse. It could've been your daughter had a wedding last year, and this year you're giving birth.

YIKES, you'd have to commit me I love my free life now!

Might as well, and you can also remind me that I don't need to even think about having a Reeces whipped candy bar for breakfast desert. It's not right to have desert after breakfast, is it?

Okay, pig burns in our bodies much faster then other meats, it's too much for our bodies to take in, it's like putting airplane fuel in a GM Colbalt or Grand Prix.

Pork is one meat that when it is cut and sliced is full of worms. This was just verified to me by a friend whose father slaughtered their own pigs for food.

Pigs eat anything and no matter what the industry will tell you, they feed pigs, left over pigs, garbage, by products (more left over animals) and fecal scraps. pigs are dirty, they are not a clean animal at all.

Kinda like eating carp, carp eats crap off the bottom of the river. It's not a clean fish to eat. but people do eat it.

that reese thing, probably has trans fats, now that I can go all day on!

and of course it's high in fat and cholesterol and salts. It's just not good for anyone.

That is the short seminar.

Oops. Sorry. She passed away a few years ago.

Tell you what. If you get pregnant, I'll learn how to knit.

Ewww...eww..ewww

I used to eat pig, I even used to eat at McDonalds and Burger King, but that was years ago and I don't do soda of anykind.

My vice....chocolate (it has to be really good: Ikeas or Sees) and Licorice and of course my ice tea, it's all I drink.

Oh I know! It's horrible! And I drive a gas hog.

We get our fuel at a bulk plant because my husbands business has an account. Our last bill, for 2 weeks, 1 semi truck was $2900. That's diesel, my share of that bill was an extra $135.

On May 18 regular unleaded was $3.87
On May 30 regular unleaded was $4.05

In that same time frame diesel went from $4.35 to $4.56

Years ago, I drove a Merced diesel (coupe), and in those days, diesel was 25% cheaper than gas. How times have changed.

My husband drives a chevy one ton pickup diesel
I drive a chevy half ton pickup regular unleaded

I get 15.7 mpg
He gets 21.5 mpg

So I guess it all evens out in the long run

I'm impressed. I have a Tundra that doesn't do any better than your half-ton Chevrolet. Mile for mile, I guess I'm better off driving the Lexus even though I have to burn premium in it. On long trips, it gets close the 30mpg, and the truck does 15-16.

I don't know about that. When it comes time to remove it, I might just be more willing to take my chances with the scissors. Ouch.

I was pretty impressed with the pickups too. And I love the thing. It is a 4 door, short bed and serves all my needs. The back seat is huge and has tinted windows so when I am doing a senior portrait shoot, they use my pickup as a changing room. Those miles are my city driving, I have not been anywhere to really test the highway mileage.

I had a Cadillac before I got this pickup and it got horrible mileage and used premium. It was very comfortable, but that's all it was good for.

I'm not sure I'd do that either. Most nail polish remover is acetone-based, and usually harmful to plastics.

If unsure...test whatever you try in a corner of the screen first!
