i just bought a rebel xt and would like some feedback on my pictures that i took in the first week ive had it. these are some long exposure night shots i took last friday

Were you using a tripod? If not that would help. Try to keep the horizon/waterline straight in the frame. Looks like there is a lot of noise so a lower ISO would help. I like no. 2, good idea. I would have the subject facing you though.

looks pretty good for a first ..keep practicing .
Watch your horizon ...easy to forget when shooting but makes for a better shot if done .

you have image edit ok so here goes -
1) lower exposure
2) increase saturation
3) noise ninja
4) image rotation and crop

Looks like in your second one you had the same problem I did. It may be because you have a filter on the lens. It could also be because you used too large of an aperture setting. i don't know I have to go try again. But nice shots anyways. :D

Here's what I mean. I pointed arrows at the ghost/flare/reflections. Looks like an inverse of the bright lights I circled.
