But I'll have to correct you on the roasted corn. You need to put butter, mayo, salt, lemon pepper, red pepper and cayenne pepper.....now that's the way to eat roasted corn.

Mayo?!? I'll agree with the rest of that. But... Mayo?!?

Don't knock it till you try it. I thought it was gross too at one time, but gave it a chance now I always put it on. Though, it I go to a place that does not have it refrigerated or iced down, I don't....would rather not get sick. ;)

A++ on your assignment.:D Nice pics throughout, Terri. Good to see you shooting again.

Mean ol woman.....no need for name callin'. Congrats to Curt....he'll have the vote in the bag come election time.

She is a member of our church too. Not so much mean, just one of those who seems to choose to be unhappy at life in general.

Thanks, I hope you're correct on the election.

Dan and Lisa, good luck at the wedding tomorrow! I am peeling out, too. Night everyone.

That is who made those nasty black marks across the floor.

hi friends ..I did well not lost once thanks to GPS ..yaya

Thanks for checking in, Deb. Good to hear you had a safe trip. Have fun.

Now I need a calculator to add 2+2...

4 Just say'n.

But I'll have to correct you on the roasted corn. You need to put butter, mayo, salt, lemon pepper, red pepper and cayenne pepper.....now that's the way to eat roasted corn.

Spoken like a true Texan.

JEN - nice carnival shots. I like the motion in #1 and the close-up comp in #3.

Hi all, just check'n in quickly. My shots last night, well, I'm not happy and thank goodness for PP. I really messed up on exposure, don't know where my head was. But, I caught a lot of good leaps. This annual shoot we pick out a good sampling and put on the laptop. Take that this afternoon along with order forms to the recital. Folks then order CD's from us. The final CD's will have a lot more shots and we will begin mailing them out within a week.

Planted two flats of petunias, red and purple, all around this morning. Now I must finish cleaning up and make pizza pasta salad for our Father's Day luncheon tomorrow.

We have to leave about 1:30 for Father's Day shopping and then up to the recitals. We want to hit the second intermission of the first recital and will stay set up through the second recital. Don't know if I'll be back today or not. Hope everyone has a fun day and good shooting to Cat, Permi, and Puddles.

Snippets from vacation, part 1:

setting: Hotel room, all lights off, everyone in bed. Still awake.

Me: Oh my GOSH it's hot in here!
Wade: Are you gong through menopause?
Tevin: What's menopause?
Joshua: It's when you get angry at your own angriness.

Marian: We are SO weird! I can't believe we are laughing about menopause at 1 in the morning!

I think the kitties may have started bonding. Kitteh just took on Tupper in a wrasslin' match. I wasn't completely sure how that would go, so I was keeping a very close eye on them. It was hilarious to see this tiny one or two pound kitten stand up on her hind legs to try to look threatening to a 9-year-old Maine Coon who is pushing 30 pounds (and he's lost weight over the past couple years!).

After a few anxious moments on my part, I was satisfied that Tupper was just playing, too.

This morning I woke up and it was dead silent in the house. I like that first morning quiet when everyone else is sleeping.
I thought, 'well, I'll get up and hang by myself for a little bit'. I like being outside in the early morning, and just sitting in the yard listening to the birds. The air is different too.
Anyway, so I decided to get up, even though it was early, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't TOO early. So I rolled over and looked at the clock, and it was almost noon.

You think we are a little bit tired from traveling and emotional stuff from the last few days? Sheesh.

Joshua's friend (;) ) sent him some great quotes after he told her about Cara. He sent them to me, and I wanted to share them with you.

"We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment." -George Eliot

"I think we are drawn to dogs because they are the uninhibited creatures we might be if we weren't certain we knew better. They fight for honor at the first challenge, make love with no moral restraint, and they do not, for all their marvelous instincts, appear to know about death. Being such wonderfully uncomplicated beings, they need us to do their worrying."
-George Bird Evans

*disclaimer: I didn't check these to see if those are the actual authors. I'm just going with what was sent to me.

First time I ever heard this one:

...attributed to Mark Twain. That's an old quote, but Twain never said it...

Nope....this is the real Twain quote....I have been studying the traits and dispositions of dogs and contrasting them with the traits and dispositions of man. I find the result humiliating to me.

Good evening from Florida!

Hi all. "The Boy" flew alright. he waited until the end of the flight to scream. :)

I spent most of the flight thinking up fun (but unusual) things to do at 30,000 feet.

* Bring a geiger counter aboard. Fire it up to see how much radiation you're really being exposed to. (Yes, there is a higher radiation level at that altitude. The atmosphere doesn't filter enough)

* Try to guess your heading, and predict which runway you'll be landing on. I got it right 2 times.

* Entertain the toddler with loud singing toys.

* Try to guess what disney movie the family behind you is playing with their portable DVD player.

* Give a big thumbs up to the toddler who is actually screaming on the airplane. "Thank you for overshadowing my child's screaming"

* Realise that you've spent waaaay too much time with Flight Simulator. I swear, i recognised all of the displays in the cockpit.

All in all not a bad pair of flights. Luck was in our favor in Charlotte, the plane they brought in from the maintenance hangar was a bit late.

Have to disagree, I think you did fine with this.

I like being outside in the early morning, and just sitting in the yard listening to the birds. The air is different too.
Anyway, so I decided to get up, even though it was early, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't TOO early. So I rolled over and looked at the clock, and it was almost noon.

Like you, I like the early morning quietness and yes the air is different. Noon is OK to sit quietly too.:D;) For what it is worth, I woke up at 5:30 and thought, think I'll just rest here a bit, next thing I know it was 7:30.

the baseball game I was to shoot this evening was canceled, it is storming. Unfortunately the make-up game will be next week and Joey can't be there.

Well darn. Sorry that didn't work out for you Crissa.

How are things?

Not too bad, considering. The kids are ok. I'm ok. There are lots of things that set me off to tears, but that's to be expected.
Little things like, Tevin vacuumed this morning. And usually when he vacuums, at least once you can hear him say "Cara, move! Move.. Cara, MOVE!" Well, he didn't say that today, so that made me cry.

So it's the little things that will be hard for awhile, but it's actually going ok. Not too bad.

I can't express how glad I am that we got Amikah before this happened. She has been a lifesaver for Ginger, I know it.
There have been a few times I catch Ginger waiting at teh door for Cara to come home, and it breaks my heart, but I know it's easier on her because we have Amikah here.
