Now, as for what I did?
Well, if you look at the red channel, you can see the streak of damage pretty clearly, using the calculations dialog, I created a composite of the red and blue channels using the difference blending mode. This was saved to a channel for future use, then I copied the contents into the mask channel for a curves adjustment layer, and adjusted the image until everything looked pretty even. This of course introduced some weird color casts, which I corrected using the Color Balance tool. If you look at the sliders available you'll notice you can ignore one and use the other two and it works pretty much like Camera Raw.
Phew..

Sorry.
Everyone was in the livingroom, and I promised that I would just burn dad's CDs and boogie right back to visiting.
I figured I could pop in and read up a bit, so I wouldn't have so much to catch up on when I got home.
I couldn't post though, cause that would make me lose my place. Well, that, and I promised I wouldn't.
I only read for 1.5 minutes at a time between clicking 'burn' and changing out and labeling the discs.

Last time I flew, I checked my large bag with everything I was taking minus my gear, then packed as much gear as I could into a nice big backpack, and put that in a rolling carry on.
It worked perfect for me.
When I got to PR, I had a backpack to carry my stuff around in, and didn't have to worry about my gear being in anyone's hands other than mine on the plane.

I am too that is the reason I was looking at the 1510. It is carry on size. I figure if I were traveling, say to Oregon, that I would not take everything but most and that would hold it all. I'd take my BP as well (which I could check with other stuff in it since you can't carry on two things).

Before we left, I asked my dad if I could take my camera and take a few pictures, and he said "Can you do it without flash?" And I said yes I could, so he said "Great, we'd all love to have some shots."
 I told him I wasn't planning on 'shooting' the performance, I just wanted a couple of him.
So he told me to just do what I do, and that was cool.
I ended up taking almost 100 shots, they all turned out VERY well ( I was surprised), he was ecstatic, and had me burn one for every cast member last night before he went to bed.
I felt weird giving pics away with absolutely NO pp whatsoever. :? No cropping, no sharpening, nothing.
He loved them though.
Oh, and the ENTIRE performance, there was a woman walking up and down both sides, with her Rebel and pop up flash going a mile a minute.
I told dad afterwards... that was NOT me. I promised not to use flash, and I didn't.

Last weekend, we went to the Farmer's Market in town. We took Ginger with us.
We'd been there about 20 minutes, when this lady comes up to us and LOUDLY and rudely says "there are no dogs allowed here!!".
I said that there weren't any signs saying that dogs weren't allowed, and we were outdoors on public property.
She freaked on me and told me to find the organizer, and then told me to leave.
She embarrassed me so bad... she was loud and in my face.
We decided not to make a big deal out of it in the crowds of people, and we left.
I wrote a letter to the chairman of the market, telling what happened, and saying that there were no signs, and asking what the law was regarding dogs. She replied (very nice letter) and forwarded my letter to the owner of the property AND the city of St George.
I received a letter today saying that it is private property, and the property owners DO allow dogs on leashes, and to please return with my dog and enjoy myself. :D :D
We'll be going to the farmer's market tomorrow morning with Ginger AND Amikah.

Quick catch-up before retiring for the night. The show was very good, lots of tap. The stage version of Thoroughly Modern Millie has several songs that weren't in the movie and vice versa. I get more out of these shows because I know the performers and to see some of the characters they build simply amazes me.

The one you posted in the self portrait thread also.
It breaks my heart when I look at it, and I can't help it, it makes me cry, and I want so badly to reach in there and hug you.
You are going through some rough ****. It sucks. I hate it. You probably hate it too.
And by one photograph, you brought us all in it too... I can see it in your eyes, and I feel it. A lot of it is most likely because we love you... but some of it is the picture too.
Leave it to a photographer to tell pages of a story with one click.

Thing is my guys are terrified of escalators and that is the basic mode of moving floor to floor there, so we had to use the tiny out of the way elevators. There were 18 of us and you could fit maybe 5 in an elevator...and they took FOREVER to come back.
The dolphin show was GREAT however.

I have to wait for my brother to get here. Will probably be another 15-20 minutes or so.
Anyone (*cough* ZANE *cough*) want to help me with puppy issues?
Amikah is a nipper and a jumper. Oi. When she gets excited, she jumps alongside you while you walk and nips at your clothes.
Is that something she will grow out of, or will we have a 70lb adult dog doing that in a few years??

Grab her by her scruff, or snap the leash, or knock her on her little 18% butt, instantly and every time. She will stop in 3 days max and as long as you are consistent she will never do it again. I don't negotiate with dogs they will always win through pure cuteness. It is hard core boot camp for two years and then they are perfect until they get old and know you don't have the heart to punish them. Don't hurt her but instant negative reenforcement with a firm no every time makes the game suck. Walking is not a time for play. Yes I am a hard ass dog daddy but I have very happy healthy pups that can go everywhere with me.

Thanks Zane. I've been pretty loud in my 'NO!'s so far, but will start being a bit more aggressive. '
Holy noodle she's cute, and I know she just wants to play.
I tell her NO! then ignore her completely if she gets jumpy, but it doesn't seem to work as well as it does in my mind, lol.
And that made me laugh out loud for reals.

I generally get the walk, heal, sit thing down with breaks in between as a reward. In other words pup does twenty yards at a nice calm walk and you say "break" and praise them. Thats the reward for doing it. If they don't do it they get a jerk on the collar or picked up by the scruff and put where they belong just like mom dog does. It is a fine line of give and take to start but as soon as they understand it no more slack. I still when walking Jinx on a long heal will every so often say break and let her roam. That is the reward and the purpose in their mind.

Hmm. I've never done a 'break' before.
Right now we are working on fetching and bringing it back to us.
It's hard because when we started, she wouldn't bring us the ball (or whatever) because there was a chance that if we threw it again, Ginger would get it.
So we have been working pretty hard with that. I have 3 tennis balls.
One gets thrown to Amikah.
Then while she is running, one gets bounced for Ginger (she prefers catching to fetching).
Then when Amikah comes back, I have a 2nd ball in my hand to play with. She wants that one So badly that she will come and drop hers at my feet. I don't throw the other one till she comes to me and drops the one she has.
Then we bounce one high for Ginger again.
And the whole cycle starts over.
It's great fun.

It's referenced in Post 1 of every single RRTP thread there ever was or will be (I've got RRTP 11, 12, 13, 14, . . . waiting in the wings, so get busy folks!). But here, for the 7,534th time (and you wonder how I got my post count!) it is (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2938145&postcount=32784). Every RRTP/TPBM loyalist ought to have it bookmarked anyhow. Before I start confusing things by making it a master with links to the separate story lines stored elsewhere.
Yeah and I won't remember that later either... .hehehehehe I am lucky to remember what I had for breakfast this morning! :p heheheheh
sounds of thunder and lightening out side. I hope we leave work soon I am soooooo tired. We did have a profitable day though.
I got to leave work 45 minutes early... that was nice. It was one of those put Jennifer through the ringer days after coming off a really nasty week... sigh... I'm glad it's Friday... and I have my 'therapy' tomorrow ;) A day of shooting with Dan! I'll laugh myself into a good mood... its impossible not to! :D
The best Dark Chocolate I have ever had.
Ah hem... what is it called... And why didn't you share with me!?!?
I am too that is the reason I was looking at the 1510. It is carry on size. I figure if I were traveling, say to Oregon, that I would not take everything but most and that would hold it all. I'd take my BP as well (which I could check with other stuff in it since you can't carry on two things).
Oh I see... going to Oregon instead of coming back to NC uh huh I see how you are! :P
Well the Beagle & I are going to have some Chocolate Ice Cream and watch 10,000 BC. Laters!
Awwww Beagles are cute... didn't know Eli was a beagle... ok until a week or so ago... didn't know you had a dog at all :p Yummy on the chocolate ice cream too!
Hi folks.Things have been real screwy and I am doing a lot of soul searching. I am agitated and restless from the steroid so I am talking Lorazepam To chill out-:) I am not taking full responsibility for what I blubber tonight and won't remember it anyhow.

Oh, and the ENTIRE performance, there was a woman walking up and down both sides, with her Rebel and pop up flash going a mile a minute.
I told dad afterwards... that was NOT me. I promised not to use flash, and I didn't. :lol:Ya done good. I'm surprised that other person wasn't escorted out . . . Most places would have.
Night Jamie. :D
I saw a 'lost dog' poster today for a lost Beagle named Eli. :( Made me think of you.
Glad you've got your buddy and just a friendly reminder that he shouldn't have Chocolate ice cream. ;) Bad for him. :pRight - no chocolate or coffee for dogs. The stuff that buzzes us (theobromin) can be lethal for them. Our Daisy, fortunately?, has a self-cleaning system when she gets into it. 'Course then we have to clean up after. But she's still around at least.
TOMORROW Beefy! TOMORROW! Geez. Can't a gal enjoy herself for the evening? :rolleyes:Evidently not, if people start thinking they have authority.

Consistency is the name of the game, she has to know you are the pack leader. Zane's training methods are much like ours. Whenever we are training, we go out and burn off some energy first by chasing a ball or just out and out running, then get down to work, lots of repetitiveness. Then break time with more fun like the beginning. Always lots of praise for a job well done but a stern reprimand like Zane states when the mind wanders.
The other easy pitfall is stopping the exercises too soon when the dog seems to be getting it. Even after the pups were showing consistent good sessions, we kept them going daily for the first year to 18 months. Then began tapering off. But, always running the routines throughout their lives.
G'MAE all. We have a morning w/o plans, been awhile since we had one of those. I think I'll go pull some weeds.:D

Oh, and the ENTIRE performance, there was a woman walking up and down both sides, with her Rebel and pop up flash going a mile a minute.
Grrr.. Flash photography during performances really get on my nerves.
A few things I remember in regards to this. On the cruise there was a juggler who was really quite good and comical. People had their little P&S cameras, flashing away. Partway through the performance, he quipped "Flash photography gives me seizures" I quietly laughed to myself. Flash a lot of times spoils the lighting of the performance, anyhow.
Then, while at Sea World, there was a display of penguins. When I took a picture, Right as the AF beep occurred an employee said to me "Make sure your flash is <click> Oh, nevermind, you did have it off." A few seconds later there was a bright bust of light just down the moving sidewalk from us. But, they said something to me because I had the most conspicuous camera. The one that triggered their flash was a P&S.
They're strict for a reason, They're simulating the day/night cycle of their native habitat. It was dusk, therefore dark.

I think you are on the right track Lisa. It's a great idea, maybe different colored fonts so that it does not get lost in the shadows?

I actually wanted it to get lost...what I'm frustrated about is that the font looks too new...I can't age just the font layer in photoshop.

That's wording is what we're going to have as one of our readings.

Lisa, that is so cool! I like it a lot... what a neat idea.
You should be able to age the type layer if you save it to it's own document first, then import it back as a separate layer. Maybe. I might not know what I'm talking about at all.

Oh, I didn't know you wanted it to disappear. Guess my OCD is kicking in wanting to read it all . I wouldn't know the first thing in making the font look aged.

What really grinds my gears now is the way that whenever you go to a concert you are distracted by sometimes hundreds of glowing 2"x2" screens as half the audience attempt to video the performance on their mobile phones GGGgggggRRRrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!
Who goes to concerts?
