Reminds me of one of the computer operators at work many years ago whose brain made him automatically add an "I love you" before saying goodbye and hanging up the phone. He had been talking to one of the nuns who worked in the administration offices... He never did live that one down.

They are here for an Air Show this weekend. The Thunderbirds kept zooming around this evening too. Too low of ceiling for me to even attempt a shot of them. We're talking about going to the show on Sunday.

No.. The 100-400 would you beleive..

Almost a 100% crop as well. When I get things right with the 1D, I can crop shots down with a greater savagery than I did with the 5D and still get good results.

I'm exhausted... but my paycheck will be happier for all the over time!! I've been spoiled during the school year with working 8-4... Now hours are all out of whack, I've had to work two 6 day weeks... so I'm feelin' all out of sorts! :p

It's great, Pete. And, yeah, lots more liberty with the 1D bodies. I've noticed more latitude with the 40D over the 30D also, but that just might be experience, too.

No but I did get a good price on a PNC(I think those are the letters) card. I normally use sandisk extreme III cards. Although I don't see a difference in performance I did notice the plastic is a softer compound than sandisk. When I carry it in my pocket the grooves on the side get buggered up and it does not slide in the slot well. I am sticking with sandisk being the price difference was not dramatic and stuff not made well drives me crazy.
It looks like one of the three reviews on that page said the card never worked. The other two were happy.

Zane, I asked how close I can get without getting in trouble..."Just don't touch" was the answer. So no, I didn't pet their nose.We can't touch the humongo ponies here either at Sea World. There is a barn that visitors can walk into and even see the little foals after they are born, but no touching them at all :(.

Like everyone else has said Harm, great shots...but the one of the bunch I liked most was the umbrella one. Many may not like the suggestion or outcome, but I think this shot in selective color would look great since that umbrella is a strong color. And welcome to the friendliest thread on POTN.

Not often you can get "natural" selective coloring, this is fanatastic.

Yes, never knew about the multiquote, until i accidentally hit a button, and hey presto!!

I got a bunch of stuff from CopperHill. A brush, pecpads, cleaning fluid & the stick thing that you need, lens cleaner and the rocketblower....

I've only had the camera a month, well, less than, and it has a couple of specs of dust in there. So i need to clean the sensor (yes, i read all the posts!), is the mirror easy to clean? and what about that eyepiece you look through? It seems that has a couple of specs of dust on it too....my task this weekend will be to pimp up the camera...

Yeah, I kind of thought that it would be a while before I would get any dust in it - I only have one lens, and I did not remove it at all last weekend when I noticed something inside the eyepiece - i thought it would be on the mirror, but that looked like it had the tiniest or particles on it, the sensor also has some very, very small particles on it, as does the inside of the eyepiece...still, if i am lucky, a rocketblow (any special techniques i need to know?) will clear it all up, otherwise I'll be giving it a good clean...
