I do and I bait my own hooks. :D

I just heard there is quite a large forest fire in the eastern part of your state. Anywhere near you?

Oh, yeah, that is great therapy for your back. Girl, don't make us come out there and make you behave...you can make us come out there for any number of other reasons though.;)

Sounds like a great crew for you today Crissa. I'm doing a happy dance for you...sans pole.;)

MIKE - glad your ear seems to be a bit better. Hope you have a comfortable weekend. Did you get an appointment with an ENT person?

Caves are good for that sort of thing.

For the last Senior we did, we followed the lead of the couple on the Photovision discs and gave her one with all the images to share on My Space or whatever. Julia and Jeff Woods, I think are their names. I also did an 8X10 collage. Gives me experience and hopefully good word of mouth.

*tugging in another case of taquilla* I've got this as a staple now on my shopping list...can't have any thirsty mices around here.:D

Fire is on opposite side of state from us... so no threat what so ever.

And I think the laughter was worth any pain hitting golf balls might cause.... Can't be any worse than the pushing and pulling of furniture I did all day... hehehehe I haven't laughed that hard all week!!

Can't be any worse than the pushing and pulling of furniture I did all day... hehehehe I haven't laughed that hard all week!!A couple of years ago my back was really bad with a painful bulged disk. I was helping break down after a race and pulling posts out of the ground. It was really the worst motion using my back to pull. Leyla chided me and I sort of thought myself that I would be hurting bad. The next day I was sore all over but not too bad in the back and the day after that I was fine:shock: Total relief from that disk.

Honestly and truly... the laughter was the best medicine for me today... I laughed until I literally was on my knees holding my sides... That full body all out hysterically laughing.... I am so not worried about the pain.... :p And I assure you that if I am in pain no one will be the wiser ;)

Funny thing about the ice cream....son was eating his 'Like It' size, smallest they have. When we went outside to eat it, he scoops about 5 spoons and drops the rest on the ground. Of course, we ask him if he wants some of mine or the wife's, but no...he says he wants his own. Okay, so I go in and spend another $3.56 for him to have his own...what does he do? He eats about 3 spoons of it and says he doesn't want anymore! Grrrr!

Everytime we go to the store shopping for clothes all I hear is "Oh look at all the cute girl clothes...if we had a girl, I would buy this, and this, and this, and this, and this, and this, and this, and this, and this, and this." I really don't have a problem with someone catching and eating a few snakes or clearing pastures. The problem is it is an unregulated species so, unlike deer for example, the population is not monitored and limits set on how many can be taken. I imagine they are skinned and the meat is sold for consumption, the skin is used, and the rattles glued to novelty crap. The fact that an animal is used or eaten has no relevance to killing it. That is a feel good, emotion based, idea ingrained in us since we were taught natives were not bad for killing because they used the whole animal. The real issue is how does it effect ecology and the environment. Hunting raises huge sums of federal and state money for real conservation and habitat. Much more than many so called environmental groups who are just lobbyists. If someone wants to kill a deer for a "trophy" and not eat it the impact is the same. Money is raised and the population is kept at levels healthy for the environment. The eating part is purely emotional justification. Okay I'll stop now, thank you for listening.

G'MAE Ya'll!

I had an early morning wake up.... My boys hollering that Sadie was having her kittens... IN THEIR ROOM  I had her a space all set up.... she didn't like it apparently... She had four kittens... :) They're resting comfortably under the shelf of the boys loft bed... They're all black or black & white. Mother & babies seem to be doing well :D

She is quite young herself... I don't know how old, but she was obviously still a kitten when I got her... I'd guess less than a year old. The babies are doing fine... all busy eating :) They are even already showing some personality! :p hehehehehe

And now I have to go to work for a few hours! :( I'll post another update when I get home!

I set up our new AC last night Deb, hoping it works well. We got one of those portable ones instead of an in-window. We have to pay $175.00 to have an in window installed and they couldn't do it till Monday. We are on the top floor of a brick building with a flat tar roof above us, our apartment BAKES in this weather, we needed something fast.

A couple from Baltimore more sometime but I am fading here.

For Dan

That's the 327' USCGC Taney (WHEC 37) built sometime in the thirties and saw battle time in WWII, Korea and Vietnam and a host of other, small wars. If memory serves, the Taney is the last ship afloat that fought in Pearl Harbor, Dec 7, 1941.

Hey good people. :D
I'm not caught up, my apologies. I just wanted to pop in and say hi. :D

Hi, Cat.

thomascanty

My last place had a window mounted A/C unit. That thing could barely keep up with the heat. It only made the living room tolerably warm while the rest of the apartment was HOT. It also sucked up electricity like it was going out of style.

The place I'm in now has central air and it costs me a small fraction of what that damn window mounted thing cost to run...

Skrim17
7th of June 2008 (Sat), 08:47
We can't put window ones in ourselves, they come and remove the lower pane of glass from your window and put an aluminum panel into it with a sleeve for the AC depending on size, that way nothing can fall out if you don't put it in right!

Sorry, Zane, I didn't read the site, just Googled it after watching "Most Dangerous" on the History Channel...they were showing how they educate folks on the rattlesnake's mannerisms and avoiding bites. I bad. :( :o

I had that on last night while I was doing some HD cleaning. I didn't pay a lot of attention, but I did see the Eastern Diamondback. One of the local traffic reporters here was bitten recently. She survived, but she said it wasn't something she ever wanted to do again.

It has a hose that you vent out the window, but the opening is small and the window is opened only about 5 inches to accommodate it.
