Evening All,
Here is a flavour of the latest event at Shelsey Walsh, the mega quick and steep hill in deepest Worcestershire where the quickest cars pull nearly 150mph over the finish line, before braking like mad to pull up to stop in time.

I was there both days ,and used Canon gear saturday, and Nikon sunday as had a problem downloading cards sat. Most of these were with 1D MK 2,and 35-350.

Best to start at the start line as they blast off

Two jolly marshalls

An awesome Quattro approaching bottom S.

Some rather tasty little fuel efficient shopping cars.

My favourite bend,Top S,it's very quick and they come at you very fast.

Some of the top drivers having the craic, this is Derek Young squeezed in young gun Scott Morans car,who came second.

A very pretty single seater blasts past me lying inches away from the start.

Finally Martin Groves who broke the hill record on this run .normally he is so quick I muck up the shot, but I got a few good ones of him this time.

Lovely mix of photos Pons, it's nice to see some photos that show more than just a car :). Good work mate

Nice shots Pons. It is good to see some variety as Jay says but that Quattro shot is my pick, that car does sound awesome. I think Scott is getting bored of being runner up now.

Cheers Jay,
I know we both love looking for differant type shots, and the people shots are my favourites because they last in the respect that they will tell a story 10 yrs on,whereas the car shots will be just a record of the car on the hill.

You could shoot the same car in 20yrs time and it wont look any differant, but will be in a differant class by then.

Gkwood,
Thanks ,my mate liked that one too.I spent much time there trying for something differant and come back with a few I was pleased with.

Photonick,
Both he and Martin Groves were totally on it ,were they not,but Scott will have his day.

Might post a couple more you might like.

Some great images and you've managed to capture the atmosphere as well as the action. Good stuff :)

One criticism I will make is that the colours, particularly the reds, seem a little off. I know Ferraris aren't true "Rosso Corsa" any more but I've never seen a field full of pink ones... ;)

Thanks Glenn,
To be honest I had not picked up on that ,but as you say they are a bit "pale",will look into it.
Appreciate the comments one and all,as it's how we all get better.

Getting reds right on a 1D Mark II has always been problematic. When the camera first came out the wailing and gnashing of teeth from motorsport 'togs about Michael Schumacher's "pink Ferrari" was so loud that it drowned the engines out.

Cheers for the info Glenn re 1D mk2.
Just had a play in photoshop and it sorted the colours, and am very pleased you brought it to my attention and others .
Thanks again,

Great set Chris, as the rest say it's not all about cars, the jolly marshals and the drivers talking are great shots ;)

Some nice shots here Chris, but I particularly like number 7. The worms eye view together with the front of the car being slightly out of focus gives it that extra sense of speed.

Cheers Jim,was nice to be out taking photos as been a bit busy with the fishing lately.
Rhodri,
Thanks ,and your right,it seems to work well I think.

A nice selection Chris and some different angles being on the accredited side.

I've never seen the fast boys at Shelsey but you've captured the speed well:cool:
