I don't know if this is the best forum to post this in... but I'm looking for a backdrop option I can use to take with me on flights. Something that can fold up, be packed in a bag, and come out unwrinkled would be ideal. I was looking at some muslin options, but anyone have any recommendations?

Photek has a velour fabric background that they call the People Popper. Here is a link (http://www.photekusa.com) to their website. Click on 'Backgrounds in a Bag' on the left side of the page.

Just offhand, I would think felt would wrinkle less than muslin. (I use black felt sometimes) .. but in either case, a hand held steamer might not be a bad idea to get the creases out. ... unless ***idea** : your backdrop IS intentionally wrinked to have a uniform *crushed* look. (in which case, just wad it up and smash it into a bag..eh?.. good idea??)

There is a "freedom" backdrop. I think that is the name. I see them advertised in magazines. It is a wrinkle free material that comes with its own bag to stuff it into. Ill post the name when I get home.

Denny Manufacturing Company has a great line of inexpensive "Freedom" cloth backdrops.

Hi,
Backdrop alley also has a set of 5x10 backdrops also. They fit into a small bag and when ready for use a few minutes in a dryer smooths them out. Pretty inexpensive too at about $45 apiece. Solis colors only though. I was thinking about picking some up later down the road. I have a set of the Photeks and quite honestly like them. Very little light to make them "pop".
