I've not been on the forum much lately, I'm sad to say. Last month I had a little accident with my A80. Taking pictures at the on the edge of Stannington, looking east towards the edge of the Peak District National Park.

It was becoming very windy, but I still seated my tripod mounted camera on the raised surface. Just for a moment I thought, while I got my replacement batteries out.
Well the wind suddenly picked up and the camera was toppled. I snatched it up but found my add-on lens and lens adaptor had come free. To my horror I found the A80s own plastic lens ring was still in the lens adaptor.

A few minutes before the fall:

The image taken immediately before the fateful gust of wind:

With careful application of furniture glue, I was able to stick the lens ring back on. I then used a scalpel to etch away any flashes of residual glue. My lens go back on OK, but the lens adapter doesn't lock, probably held firm by a layer of hardend glue.

I consider myself lucky - For all intents and purposes there nothing actually wrong with my camera now, but I will be much more careful in future :(
