Please forgive me if this is the wrong forum to ask a question like this...

I have some vintage vaccum tubes and flash bulbs of my grandfather's that I was interested in selling, but have no way of testing them. Does anyone know if there is a market for them at all? and where I could find information as to what a fair asking price may be?

I saw one of the matched pairs of tubes i have go for quite a bit of money on ebay, but I feel that a photography forum would be a better enviornment.

Any help would be greatly aprpeciated!

Thanks
-John

Put them on a camera. If they fire, they work. Well, they workED.

I'm not much help. I just come here for the free candy.

I like candy!

With regard to the bulbs/tubes, these are from studio lights and power packs so I dont have anything to plug them into to try or test with.

My concern was if i try to bring it to a brick and morter camera store, they may offer me an unfair ammount but I wouldnt know the difference.

Unless there is no market for this kind of stuff at all

Just figured I'd ask, in case anyone has advice I'd appreciate it :)

That's a guarantee.

Contact a local photography club. Amateurs may have the studio heads for you to test the lights.

The downside is that the lights have an unknown usage to them. A 10,000 hour bulb could have 9,950 hours on it. I'll give you 10-cents for that one.
