Hi everyone,

I'm a long time reader... first time poster. This is my first engagement session that I did this week, and their wedding is this Saturday, also my first. Here is a couple of my favorites from the session. I ran them quickly through ACR and PS. They were shot in beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Any advice and CC would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

I think you did really well on these and #5 stands out the best to my liking.

No 6 is sharp. Good color. Good shot for your first shoot. It's the hardest.

Jason,
Well done. You should be proud.....I am sure the couple will be thrilled. Good work on all ends and great post processing work.
What lens did you use for these?

Hi Scott,

I used the 70-200 2.8 IS on a 30d. It was great, could stand about 50 feet away and let them do their thing. Thanks for the comments.

Overall comments, I think your focus is great, you nailed the focus on every single one you've got posted here. My overall criticism is.. well.. honestly.. a little boring. Perhaps it has to do with the couple, but it's something you get with practice.. :)

1 - I get the concept here, great focus. Green color cast, and you chopped her hand off at the wrist. Also the pinlights are a little distracting.

2 - Probably my favorite shot. I like the closeness you captured. I like the colors in this image. Again, awesome focus. My main complaint is it's a little too centered/boringish.

3 - Too dark. Watch the cropping, his wrist is barely cut off. Also centered.

4 - Way dark. Centered. I would cut out the empty space to his right and lighten it up.

5 - Beautiful shot, just needs to be cropped. Crop it in closer to the left and closer on top. Lighten it up a hair. Great clarity.

6 - Same comments as above.

7 - Reddish/orange color cast.. It's cute, but it looks like an outtake. No real composition.

8 - Nice shot, too cool and a little dark.

I think the basic shots have a lot of possibility they just need some editing.
