What an awful looking car.

First one has awesome tones. I'm thinking there may be a tad too much foreground but it still looks good. Only thing I'd think about doing differently is removing that lamp post.

Second one's fantastic, shame about the bags behind his seat though :-(

I kind of like it. Lighting looks good except want more detail in the wheels. Great sky. I'm thinking there may be a tad too much foreground but it still looks good. It's sort of a "Lead in" line. I think I'd have gone with a horizontal frame, though. Only thing I'd think about doing differently is removing that lamp post. I can see Tattoo running around screaming, "The pole, the pole"? ;)

Wow...aggresive fenders and tucked wheels, I like it ! ! Also nice and clean.
They're right about the pole...I'd take that out.
I would've shot the wheels seperate and bring them together in PS, so we can see more detail with the wheels.
But overall great shot! ! got any more ? ?

I agree with Dean...

But i dont understand why some people spend so much money on a cheap car they never get it back:confused:

Actually, the owner just sold the car for £10,500!!!

Not sure how much it was bought for, and how much work has been put into it.. but I'm almost positive he lost the money he put into it. The mods alone are probably way more than the car is worth, and if he sold it for $20,000 USD... Definately.

I think gullwig doors alone are 4\5K ....

In the UK pretty much all modded cars make losses, unless it's something really high profile.

Generally people do it for the love of it, or to stand out.

I'm sorry, I'm clearly on the wrong website. I thought this was the place to talk about photography, but I was wrong as most people are actually more concerned about the amount of money the owner of the car has spent.

My bad

I wanna' know if you're using strobes or off-camera flashes.

Jay McLaughlin

I'm using a Canon 580EX II and a 430EX both off camera and fired with pocket wizards

I love the lighting in the first pic....sky is beautiful! The car is ugly but you did a superb job with the exposure. did you use umbrellas with the flashes?

It just goes to show if people don't like your subject, they will get distracted and can't appreciate the art.

The flashes were bare. In that situation you need all the power you can get, so umbrellas are a no no as they will cut out some of the light.

My bad Threads do tend to degenerate at POTN after the perceived "business" has been addressed. While you're right, you got 25 "bumps", so let them talk. I've seen threads with equally nice images go to page 2 without even one. ;)

Your website says you are a car enthusiast and when people talk about the suject in your photos you get excited..... chill out ;)
