New to the forum so please excuse me if this question has been asked before.

Can anyone suggest some suitable software for handling the RAW files from my D60?
Cost must be a consideration.

Many thanks

What exactly were you looking for? You can dpwnload DPP and EVU from Canon's website for free:

http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=DownloadDetailAct&fcategoryid=325&modelid=7495

Both will do RAW files but you'll need to have a previous version of FVU or EVU installed to install these new downloads.

If you want something other than Canon products, there are BreezeBrowser, C1, Photoshop CS, etc.

There are a slew of products available to you.

There is Bibble Pro (works with CR2 files)
Phase One Capture One (LE and Pro) (Only v3.6 for the Mac understands the 20D at this time).
BreezeBrowser v2.11
DPP from Canon
Adobe PhotoShop CS (or v7 with ACR add-on)

The first 3 have trial versions. DPP will come with the 20D and other (newer) Canon cameras that are supported. I cannot remember of the D60 is supported.

Adobe PhotoShop is a necessary tool for most photographers.

Take care,

I downloaded DPP 1.5 from the Canon D60 download site, but can't get it to recognize the D60's RAW files. The pdf manual doesn't list D60 as a supported file format (just 10D, 300d, Pro1 for CRW).

If anyone has managed to get DPP to work with D60 RAW, I'd like to hear about it.

If you are looking for some other free raw converter software, you can always try the converter at this website - http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/. Don't know much about it, but looks pretty cool.

I use the Canon RAW image converter software that came in the original D60 package.

You can't beat the price.

I have'nt used all the software that has been mentioned here, but I can recommend Capture 1 DSLR. The results look fantastic to me, and the workflow is a dream.

See my review of it here:
