Woke up this morning around 4:30 [always an early riser] and went into the kitchen to start coffee in the trusty Bunn coffee maker and it was deader than a doornail . First thought "this is not funny" second thought "uh oh" I live in a small town with a Wal Mart and thats about it and Christmas Day is the only day of the year they are closed. "panic" Since there is no possible way of having a no coffee day I headed out at 5:45 in the sub-zero temps with 12 inches of snow on the ground across town to my office where I have a cheapie Sunbeam. The good thing is things have to get better unless our turkey taste like the Griswalds and our jello mold is made with kitty chow. Merry Christmas everyone and be sure to thank your coffee maker on this Christmas morn.

Regardless of the turkey or jello, Christmas - any day really - would be miserable without a cup of coffee. Miserable.

So I'm glad you're day is getting better...

It's pretty bad when you go to work on Christmas day just to have a pot of coffee. :lol:

Good point Bruce, things are much better now, fresh cup of coffee, warm cinnamon rolls just out of the oven, and Christmas Vacation in the DVD player. Life is good.

I'm familiar with the sense of panic when the coffee pot dosn't work. I have two spares in the garage and spare filters for both.

My wife says, "Why don't you just have a cup of tea with me?"

She just doesn't get it.:rolleyes::lol:

It is worse when you go to work for a pot of coffee on christmas day and some shifty sod has taken the coffee pot..... ;)

ha ha, dire emergencys call for extreme measures. What if Santa had stopped by around 5am, wore down and badly in need of a cup of coffee. I am not going to be the one to tell him no!

Haven't you guys ever boiled water, and added coffee grounds to it. (An eggshell helps cut the bite). We called it cowboy coffee. :) :)

BTW, there a new product out, it's called a percolator, you put coffee grounds and water in it and set it on the stove. Supposed to be pretty good :lol: :lol: :lol:

Merry Christmas :)

C'mon snibbets - there's desperation coffee and real coffee. Christmas morning deserves real coffee.

But going to work on Christmas day is really pushing it....
