Just wanting to see if there's anyone in the south central PA area (York area) or anywhere near there on this site. I'm from Red Lion, very close to York. If anyone is in this area post here and maybe we can share the best photo spots we know of.

I have friends in the area. Some of them are also in to photography, so we meet up and find something to shoot.

I was born and raised in York, lived in York City until I was 21, then moved a couple miles north in the Lewisberry area. I work in Mechanicsburg, and frequently drive to York to visit my parents.

from what I've experienced, there is only so much to shoot around here. Maybe I just need a challenge or interesting idea though.

Kiwanis Lake up in the city of York has great egrets and herons. Check out my Zenfolio to see some of those shots. Near Stewartstown, there is the Wallace Cross Gristmill. There are some opportunities along the Susquehanna river and Lake Redman. Down in Harford County, Md., there is a 19 foot water fall called Kilgore Falls. You can also see that on my site. Of course, there are many covered bridges in Lancaster county and general Amish country life. Although the Amish people do not like their picture to be taken. Isn't that big shoe still off the side of the road from rt. 30 going towards Lancaster?

Yeah, that shoe is still there. Friends from out of the area always ask what it is, and for anyone who doesn't know, it's an ice cream parlor. Never actually been inside 'cause it was closed when I drove by but it's still there.
I love shooting water so I may have to look up directions as to how to get there. I just recently found some waterfalls and covered bridges under the site seeing section on weather.com
