Hi all, and Merry Christmas!

I have a bundle of B+H gift cards that I got for Christmas:), and am debating whether to buy the items I want online or drive there (40 minutes). I would probably just get them online, but I have 2 ticket stubs from the Radio City Music Christmas Show, and on the back of the tickets are offers for a free B+H gift for purchases over $50.....has anyone ever used ticket stub offers at B+H, and if so what was it? Will it be worth my while to drive 40 minutes for said gift offer? They have free parking so thats no concern ($$$).

Regards,
Bill :)

I would take the drive if I were you. I think browsing around in the store would be an awesome experience.

Not yet, assuming that it is just a gimmick to get customers into the store, but youll be the first to know when I do.

Maybe it's a roll of Instomatic film. That would be worth a 40-minute drive to New York (plus the $20 or more for parking).

B&H has free parking right across the street, though sometimes it's a challenge to get in the lot.

If you've never been in the store, it's well worth going, even for no gift. Their source books on everything from lighting to now professional audio and home theater, with everything else in between are good enough gifts as they hold many lessons on a variety of topics.

But rest assured, the free gift is probably a roll of film or the like. Seems these days they can barely give film away, what with 35 million digital camera sold this year alone.

Got two of theses free gifts last week - they're green canvas shopping bags with the B&H logo on the side.

Merry Xmas,
Barry

My free gift was a disposable camera - not even a familiar brand. It didn't change the need for the trip as far as I was concerned but I couldn't help but laugh when the guy handed it to me. I think he saw the funny side of it too.

I was bored, decided to drive into the city for some Kenko tubes and a 50mm 1.8.......brought the stubs with me, and I got a disposable camera AND a neat B+H backpack (had 2 stubs).

:)

I have a $2400 order on its way to me as we speak. If there's no B+H canvas bag along with there's gonna be hell to pay...

Let's see, $4 to cross the bridge to get into Manhattan, money to park if you can't get into the free lot across the street, money for a meal or cup of coffee (you'll at least be thirsty after all that browsing, if not downright hungry). Then there's the $4 to cross the bridge to get back home.

I suppose you could take the back streets, unless you're coming from New Jersey.

And somebody is suggesting you'll save on shipping? Interesting.

"Here's your 1DS Mk2 and 600mm f/5.6L IS lens sir, and here's your free gift a 24 exposure roll of kodak consumer film"

I'd probably be making the trip just to poke around the store.
