Both excellent shots. The mite looks like one of the predatory species and never seen a globular like that before- great find - the pot makes a wonderful BG :)

thanks for comments and the Globulart has been ID'd by Frans as Sminthurinus bimaculatus and is my 34th species.

Excellent shots Toby - that's one of the best mite shots I've seen in a while! Congrats on the new springtail! Hoping you find a undiscovered one soon and get it named after you (would be fitting!).

they are greats. gonna have to invest in that lenses soon. i been seeing those springtail all over but can't get a decent shot of one. need more mag!!!!

First off, excellent shots! Amazing work. Makes me wanna run out and buy more lenses! =)
#1 is my definite fav. Reminds me of a weevil.
