I think this photo of a paddle wheel on a river boat running the Mississippi River captures some of the power. What do you think?

It's an interesting shot, but I think I want to see more water action for a "captures some of the power" shot?

I think the tight crop creates confusion as to what the subject of the shot is supposed to be. If it weren't for your description, I'd have no idea what I was looking at.

I see what you are saying. It's amazing how an experience - in this case the sound of the paddle wheel thrashing the water, is connected to the visual. Since you were not there, you do not have that audio in your memory.

Here is another, less tightly cropped image that should at least help identify the object, but I do not think it communicates the power of the wheel. Thoughts?

I think a different angle closer to the water and sideways to the wheel would have been more effective. Unfortunately, this was not available while riding the boat.
