First off, Hi everybody,

I'm very new to taking anything other than snapshots, but I'm really enjoying my Digital Rebel and was hoping to get some others' opinions. I only have the kit lens and absolutely no training, so I'm using the advice and hints given here to try and better my skills. Please let me know what you think.

Very nice shots. You got a nice, silky look to the waterfall. Take lots of pictures.

Thanks, the folks on these forums seem very friendly and helpful.
I have noticed numerous people here hosting their photos on other websites then linking here. Can anyone recommend a good free site for doing this? I have numerous photos I would like to show, and attaching them here is obviously very limited. Also, I am trying to learn how to make my photos better with PhotoShop, so I may repost these once I've figured that out.

For first, I think making it landscape with tower in one or other corner would have added impact.

I liked the 2n one one, silky smooth fall very good

Nice shot for sure. The 300D is a very capable camera really and I think you'll enjoy it. I love mine and am upgrading my lenses for when I get good/well trained enough to justify the purchase of a 1D Mk. II.

steps I really wanted to get closer to the lighthouse, however, there was a fog bank just off shore so the house's fog horn was going off. Deafening! I could hardly bare to be there long enough to get this shot. In case anyone is wondering, that's the Owl's Head Light in Owl's Head Maine. One of the few lighthouses that's still manned by the US Coast Guard.
