Yesterday i received a 300D with lens kit, and a friend sold me his 75-300mm lens... so i'm looking for a bag to keep it all safe in when out and about on the bike. Now I'm wondering what to look for in a bag when buying? [ie do the bags come custom fit for different cameras etc?]

Is that everything you would be keeping in the bag? Lowepro mini trekker I used to have holds 10D+grip, 70-200mm IS, 24-70mm, 17-40mm, flash and other stuff, you might wanna check it out.

One thing though, you'll NEVER find the right bag for all your kit, I've gone through 4 different bags and fifth one is on its way, all because my collection of gear keeps growing ...

1. Tamrac Velocity 7 (sling bag, compact, will hold 300d, lens, flash or another lens)
2. Tamrac Expedition 5 (larger traditional back pack, well padded, rain cover)
You can't go wrong with either.

So true. But for now I've settled down, because I haven't bought any new equipment ;)

My vote goes with the Lowepro MIni Trekker AW.

Merry Xmas,

Cheers for the input guys... i like the look of the tamrac bags, as they seem like i'll be able to get the camera in and out without too much fuss... but i'll hold off till i've seen the Lowepro bags in the flesh.

Hardest to make decision on for me. I bought a Rover AW II and I never even used it once. You really have to go down to the store and feel it before buying it or ordering it from online retailers. Just my 1/2 cent.

Went into town this afternoon, and I think I'm likely to go for the Tamrac Velocity 7 or maybe 9, as my impressions of the Lowepro mini treker are that it is way too big for my needs.

I picked up te Velocity 7 yesterday and think it's great... the ease of carrying over the back, and ability to undo the quick release waist strap and swing it round to the front makes it ideal while out on the bike.

Thanks for all the input ! :D
