I haven't used it to much. I took some bracketed shots this weekend.

Okay, in bridge i right click on the three .cr2 files and tell it to open in photomatix. I then tell photomatix to process hdr image out of these three. Then it pop sup with the hdr image. I then hit the tone map button set all the nice colors, saturation etc etc and it looks great. i then hit process. This point it is done and still vied in photomatix. i save it as the only obvious option of 16bit .tiff file. I open it in photoshop and the picture is real muddy, no contrast and nothign like the same file when it is opened in photomatix.

Any ideas?

TIA

Steve,
From your description, it sounds more like the 32 bit HDR file than a Tiff. What info does PS show for the image?

With photomatix my only option to save the tone mapped image is 8 or 16 bit tiff and jpg, I checked and it is 16bit tiff.

I realise that, but you can also save the HDR file. It was just an idea.

I cant seem to find the option to save it as an HDR file. Save as HDR is ghosted out only save as is an option with 8/16bit tiff and jpg.

Steve,
When you save the tonemapped image and close it, the HDR should be visible. Alternatively, before you tonemap, you can save the HDR through the File -Save.
I'm sorry, but I have no idea why the Tiff should appear like you describe. Has it happened with more than 1 file? If not, maybe, for some reason the file got corrupted.

It does it with all tone mapped saved tiff files. I will take a screen shot when i get home with the file opened in PS and the same file opened with photomatix both showing on screen so you can see what i am seeing.

Good idea, Steve. I've used Photomatix with CS3 for quite a while now, and never had a problem.
