This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 48hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read (Before and After #69.)

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!

This will end on Tuesday at 8 pm EST/ 6pm MST

This was taken at the Georgia Zoo should be cool to what y'all come up with.

I've not been able to compete in a while, but after seeing Lee123's great start I just had to put the books away!
Just for laughs :)

Rotated canvas slightly to straighten.
Cropped.
Cloned in bushes over the stuff on the hill and the one twig behind the zebra.
Contrast.
Noise reduction/sharpening.
Gaussian blur to the background.
Hue/Saturation layer - adjusted the red.
Dodged some of the shadows on the zebra a little bit.
Border.

I thought a little baby zebra would add to this picture:
1. Noise reduction @ 70% luminance; 80% color; +1 sharpening
2. Rotate clockwise 1.5 degrees to straighten
3. Copy layer; Flip horizontally; Free-transform to scale and skew baby zebra to take the legs fit the slope of the ground where I wanted to place him
4. Layer mask to reveal baby zebra
5. Add shadow under baby zebra
6. Extend right side of image to enable an off-center crop
7. Clone away stuff on hill and dead branch
8. Re-crop
9. High-pass filter @ 2 pixels w/ soft light blend
10. Adjust levels and contrast
11. Resize & add border

Well sadly only a few people were able to do this. It was probably one of those busy weeks for most of the people. Squip I like your humorous edit. Lee123 your edit was great like how you have the reflection in the water. SilverHCIC I like you tried to make a baby Zebra. With this one I choose Suzyb I like how the zebra pops out at you and the overall image is great. Congrats Suzyb and great job everyone else with their edits. Can't wait to see the next one. Ended it sooner because I thought it was 5, but I'll end it soon so we can see what the next one is :D

Congrats suzyb. ... Nice job. Lee I liked your attention to detail - some people would have forgotten to add the reflection in the water.

Look forward to the next one!!;)

Pity there was only a few Zero, I also had one of those crazy weeks (hence the comic...).
Well done to the rest of you!
