Just upgraded to new firmware, 1.1.0 and now can not download images from camera to computer. Using Mac G5 10.3.7. I download grom a card reader so no problem getting to the images but EVU is usless for this activity.
Anyone else have this problem???

Here's (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50953&highlight=firmware) another thread on that subject, Jack.

Jack, this is a common problem with this particular firmware update, you won't be able to see RAW images when camera connected to computer, neither can you transfer via cables, card reader would be the only way to transfer.
Nothing you can do for now, hopefully canon is working on it.

sGu, You can actually transfer CR2 files from the camera to a PC, just not with Canon's software. Downloader Pro for example, sees and downloads the files just fine.

Cheers for the tip, Kenny!
But I don't think anything would beat transfer speed of of Sandisk Firewire card reader :D
I don't usually use camera to computer transfer, just waste of battery :p

Same here, I only use a CF reader, but after all the moans and groans about the problem with the upgrade I tested it out just for the heck of it.
Got myself some nice 1GB Lexar 80x cards for £50 each from a local store the other day. Took the last they had in stock as at that price I just couldn't refuse.

lol, you cleared out their stock???!!! They must love you to bits!
Can't blame you though, at that price, who wouldn't? ;)

Would the new version of the Canon software (not the firmware) work with this new firmware.

Actually, they only had 5 left so it wasn't that big of a deal. The post-sale stock goes back up to £79.
Deckyon, There seems to be a 50/50 chance that the latest version of the software works. Don't know why it does for some and not others. It shouldn't really be a big issue as CF readers are a better solution anyway.

I normally use CF readers, but if there is an issue with the camera communication, then I wonder if it will affect the remote control of the camera from the computer, which I do when attempting to take astrophotos. Granted, not something I am planning on right now with the cold and snow. I have not had a chance to test this issue out, I still cannot carry my gear due to a recent operation.
Sucks not being able to get out and shoot. I was hoping to get some winter landscape shots...

Contacted Canon Tech Support in an email and they rescued me. Wedetermined that it was a faulty installation of EOS Viewer Utility. I re-enstalled and like magic, it works.

I did the update on my MkII without any problems at all. I see the RAW files in EOS Viewer, Digital Photo Professional as well as Photoshop CS.
