There's a local contest going on and the theme is "abstract". Both were shot using my 50mm. Comments and criticism are always appreciated. Thanks!

Nice, although I would have chosen a different angle on #2 ( maybe lay under them and shoot up at an angle) and better lighting on #1. Come on get crazy it is abstract.

Love the first one! That is a really cool shot. 2nd one not so much for some reason... Good work!

I like them both, but #2 really stands out for me.

i also think that #2 is the winner here. looks like a photo that would look great matted and framed!

Both are great. Number one is the best IMHO...

I think both are perfect the way they were taken. The approach/angle taken on 2 is good. If there were any other angles taken, it wouldn't fill the the picture as much taking a picture head on because they're flat objects. Good job.

#1 for me, although i like both, the shallow DOF really works for me. ;)

I like both. But if it is abstract.... mabie add a color cast to the first one and see if it works better.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm allowed two entries in the contest. Thank God I don't have to choose. :)

My first submission won first place! Didn't have much competition, but I got it. Thanks again for your opinions.
