We were gifted with a white Christmas where I live so today I went for a walk with my camera in the Longdendale Valley. The snow that fell last night must have been quite wet because it had stuck to all the trees, fences and walls. It looked wonderful. In fact, it was the most beautiful I can remember it being, and it's already a pretty part of the country. I've put a selection of pictures below, but you can see more, and larger images, in an album here (http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/rallybasher/longdendale/index.html).

#2 and #3 have to be my favourite, all very good tho, where abouts where these taken? They were taken in the Longdendale Valley near to the town of Glossop in Derbyshire. The path that you see in #1 and #3 used to be the main railway line between Manchester and Sheffield until it closed in 1981. Now it's a footpath and bridalway that forms part of the Trans-Pennine trail. The reservoirs supply water to Manchester.
